The Wisconsin Election Commission outlined plans today for a recount of the states president ial ballots. Green Party Candidate jill stein and reform party usa candidate rocky de la fuente filed recount petitions. This morning we learned the recount will likely get underway thursday. Cbs 58s Kristen Barbaresi was at todays Commission Meeting and joins us live from madison with the rest of the recount timetable. Kristin . 3 3 by law this recount must be done by deecember 13 and Election Commission made it clear this will be a tough and people will be working nights and weekends to get it done this is the timeline approved by the commission by noon today county clerks had to submit a cost estimate for the recountby the end of the day nov 30 there will be a teleconference for county clerks to go over procedure and the actually recount will start december 1. Counties need to finish by 8 pm dec 12, and on the 13 it will all be finalized. 3 3 michael hass we are skeptical of any claims that voting equipment is either not working correctly or being tampered with in the state of are it is not connected to the internet. We have a number of different systems in place in the state. We have a very decentralized system and an individual would need to have unfettered physical access to voting equipment. In her petition stein did request a hand count. But the Commission Said it will be up to each county how they do it by hand or machine. Teal pennebaker, amazon a Brown Deer Police officer charged with shooting and wounding an unruly Bus Passenger returned to court this morning. Devo guilty plea during an arraignment hearing. Shes charged with aggravated battery and would face up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Last march, kraemer and her partner were called to get an unruly passenger off a bus. Surveillance video showed kraemer, her partner and the man wrestling on the ground. Kraemer says she couldnt see the mans hand and feared for her safety. She shot him in the back. That man survived the shooting, but lost part of the cudahy man accused of setting fire to his Waukesha County workplace because of a spider. The criminal complaint says 24yearold kevin butler was seen holding a lighter to a sack of almonds back in october before the fire started. He told officers he saw a spider and proceeded to light it on fire and didnt realize it had started to spread. Today, a judge ordered him not to use any incendiary devices including lighters until his case is resolved. 18 people are displaced after an allis. Firefighters were called to an Apartment Building on the corner of 88th and lapham just before 7 this morning. One apartment has smoke damage and two others have water damage. The fire was contained to one apartment on the 2nd floor. But because of the water. The electric power and gas to the building have been shut off. The Organization Says they are hoping to hire 50 bell ringers between now and Christmas Eve to work during the daytime hours. They say those are typically the toughest shifts to fill, and this is the lowest turnout rate they have seen in recent years. The Salvation Army says they always try to hire as many people as possible, but some people never showed up for orientation. The greatest worship and community center. The Red Kettle Campaign is one of the most crucial campaigns for the organization.
