A teenage fight escalated into an ambush when a family says two men fired nearly two dozen shots at their Orange County home. And sop of the bullets nearly missed where and some of the bullets nearly missed where a baby will be sleeping earlier. Cameron, the family told you they know who pulled the trig. We were there as state investigators uncovered a skimming operation in port st. John. They believe the crooks are targeting gas stations now because they will be the last businesses to get the more secured chip card readers instead of the swipe card readers. And these devices have been popping up in other areas in Central Florida. We told you about several skimmers discovered in gas stations all over osceola last month, we even followed Kissimmee Police as they opened every gas pump in the sports in an effort to keep customers safe. They even told us random gas pump sweeps like that one could happen again. Well be checking with Winter Park Police in the morning to get more information about a man accused of having sex with a minor and not disclosing he was hiv positive. Court documents show richey smith, jr. , may have also had syphillus at the time of the incident. Reporter Daytona Beach police say it all started here on white court when they say the girls mother got out of the car to pick up another kid for school. Thats when police say the thief hopped in and took off with the womans daughter still inside. Investigators say the guy only got a few blocks down the road before he ditched the car here at eagle Park Apartments after they say he noticed the little girl in the backseat. Eyewitnesses say they spotted complex just seconds after dumping the car. Eyewitness news got a copy of the mothers 911 call just moments after she realized her daughter was gone. Yes, my daughters in the backseat. And what im mainly concerned about is shes in the backseat. Oh, yeah, definitely. This is scary, somebody jump in the car or whatever and you have kids. Tonight we find out that within the past two week, four Lake County High School students have been arrested, accused of bringing weapons to school. Last friday, a South Lake High School student was arrested for bringing a butterfly knife to school. The same school was arrested for having a knife. And two days before that, two students at Umatilla High School were arrested for having a gun. A Sumter County caretaker is facing charges for ripping off a 90yearold woman she was supposed to be taking care of. They say Amanda Warner stole 2,000 from an elderly victim. She took a credit card and helped herself to the money. After they discovered what was going on, they called the Sheriffs Office and reported it. Juries will now have the final say on whether a criminal lives or died. If 10 you out of 12 jurors vote in fair of the death penalty, they get put on death row. Until today, a judge made that final decision. Today we find out that governor rick scott will have the final say on a new ucf campus in downtown orlando. His quick thinking and cat like reflexes helped save his son from getting a baseball bat right to the face. But listen to what happened straight from the father and son. I took a picture of one of the baseball players. I was about to send it to my mom. Reporter but dad wasnt distracted and saw the bat coming at him. Wasnt a lot of time to react. So i did what i could. The bat came flying. So my dad blocked it. Reporter it worked, keeping landon from getting seriously hurt during his first baseball game, something he and his dad were looking forward to attending.
