Right now 2,000 customers, 2,000 homes, people waking up without electricity here at this hour. Right now the rest of the town of marshfield is in fairly good shape. The Tree Department has cut down all the debris that was in the see puddling up on the roads which youre going to have after getting heavy rain. All in all it doesnt compare to what we saw about 90 minutes ago right on Church Street. Look at that video again of that power line down on the wet roadway. Very unsettling to see it sparking like that when we initially got there just the Fire Department was there blocking off the road so nobody drove over that live wire, and thankfully they were there. And eversource crews then showed up, of course, and did what they needed to do to take care of the situation. Businesses are in the dark this morning in the eastern part of massachusetts. More than 1,000 National Grid customers in chelmsford just had the lights turned back on, but theres still a large outage in billerica. Eversource is still dealing with that problem in marshfield and theres a new outage impacting more than 1,000 customers in hopkinton. Gene destructive limbs in dorchester where a huge tree toppled into a house. Fox25 Catherine Parrotta is there for us this morning, and crews are working on it, catherine. They tell you that they have been slammed all morning. Catherine crews have already been out through the streets of dorchester this morning, and they told me when i spoke with them a couple hours ago that was the worst they had seen, but they did anticipate more people would be discovering damage as they woke up and came outside and lights started coming up here this morning. But as for this house here, this is 69 milton ave here in dorchester, and you could see the branch, the tree draped in look to the side, you could see where all of that came from. You could see the trunk of the tree sticking up out of the ground and right where it was severed where the tree split off and over along top of the home there you see damage as well. Now, this is a home with three apartments inside. Fortunately nobody was injured but we spoke with the husband of the owner of the building. Here is what he said. Take a listen. I dont see it. Sara we are learning more this morning about the Cambridge Police officer accused of hitting a woman on a bike with his car and then taking off. Fox25 investigates first broke the story on monday, and we have learned that the officer involved is ryan callinan. Witnesses say callinan was not in uniform and was driving his own truck when it happened. Callinan is five year veteran of the force and iraqi war vet. His superiors say it is one of the best they had. It is tragic, it really is. It break your heart when sara officer callinan is on paid administrative leave. His superiors say they havent had contact with him since the incident. Gene holbrook mother has been found safe and sound. Judith sales was found at connecticut mall after someone recognized her car and called police. On monday relatives called police when she never picked up her sonyearold son from the daycare. The family of Justina Pelletier claims she suffered emotional pain for the 18 months that she in 2013 the hospital had dcf take custody of the teen.
