Then this Afternoon Police armed with a search warrant came back to this home looking for clues as to how this little girl initially vanished. Peter nichols says it just doesnt make sense. How can you go 10 miles away it doesnt add up. Reporter peter, was worried sick that his neighbors 2yearold little girl linda disappeared. He like others in hamilton stunned by where she was found. How did she end up here we are in hamilton two and 2. 50yearold girl. Reporter thats a question police are investigating tonight. The toddler last seen by her parents at 3 30 this morning. Then reported missing by them three and a half hours later. I can tell you we got the call at 7 00. Reporter a massive search ensued on land, and in the skies above. As police questioned neighbors. Then about 9 30, the little girl was found in rowley. She was naked with her head shaved and what looked like a contusion on her head. She was taken to the hospital. Fox 25 catching her father gathering some of her things in a backpack as he rushed to her side. But tonight, the question remains who took her and why. Its like a jigsaw puzzle and a bunch of the pieces are missing. Reporter mark, its one of those classic i was minding my own business stories in this case we had a couple driving to work and yes minding their own business when they made a most astounding discovery in the process probably helping to save a toddlers life. Reporter a pile of leaves a lost child, a convergence that seemed in retrospect miraculous. I said to my wife, i said i think just saw a baby, i said its either a baby or a big doll by the side of the road. Reporter about 9 30 this morning marriage and tom crosbie were on their way to work driving down newbury road when they made a shocking as it turns out most fortuitous discovery. I saw this little babysitting at the side of the road. Reporter it was not just a baby, that would be astounding enough it was this baby, lyndon a 2yearold reported missing from her hamilton home hours earlier who was the subject of a massive search. In their rub to get the child out of the leaves and into the warmth of their car the crosbies initially thought they were dealing with a boy. One other reason the childs head was shaved. The crosbies wrapped the naked toddler in a coat. She was just shaking, shivering. Reporter then they called 911. She mild. Smiled. And i tickled her food in the back and she smiled to me. Why not, cold, slivering covered with leaves and now safe. Now the crosbies say although the child seemed fine she did wound of some sort they called it a contusion a red mark on her forehead about the size of a softball it happened to be Something Like a rug burn. Skyfox was over the scene around 6 00 as wieman and center streets were shutdown in Jamaica Plain following that gunfire. Alvin was working inside his store when two people were shot just next door and critically injured. Again one of those victims has died at the hospital. Guerro says its a busy time of day in this neighborhood with lots of restaurants in the area. People were out at dinner and it happened so fast he says in fact no one we talked to tonight heard or saw anything. They only knew something was going on when the Police Showed up. But even thats become familiar around here thats upsetting to people like guerro. This isnt funny at all its so depressing and hard to go around and just be the lookout.
