Some walking the streets, some working nearby and they all said the same thing that it happened oh so quickly. People on these busy south end streets say it all happened in a matter of seconds. The first thing i saw was a bunch of water gushing real quick coming toward the middle of the street. But witnesses realized this was more than just your average watermain break. Water was spurting out of the ground and we could see the workers kind of running around in a panic, all of them like trying to get help. Some of the workers were able to get out of the 12 foot deep trench on dartmouth street. Then based on the response and the way the workers appeared when they left here, you could tell that something is really wrong. Officials say two workers died in the trench. In the minutes and hours that followed many on these packed streets watched as workers consoled each other after this tragic work accident. Its term.
