That designed the School Security system and the cleaning company for the school. The 24yearold Colleen Ritzer of andover was raped and murdered inside Danvers High School back in 2013. She was a secondyear teaching math there. Her killer, 14yearold philip chism, one of her students followed her into the ladies bathroom and attacked her with a boxcutter. He is now serving 40 years to life in prison. The suit says the family is answers to several questions, including why was no one monitoring the School Security cameras. Why was colleen in the academic wing all by herself . And what measures are being taken to improve the security at the school . The ritzer family says it wants compensation to enhance School Safety and to continue colleens legacy through nonprofit organizations. Reporter the father of the freshman speaking out about the death of his son. Reporter the 14yearold was riding his bike on route 28 near the brockton food mart. That vehicle was heading in the opposite direction. Everything i have heard about the young man this morning was that he was an excellent student, a wonderful young man, model citizen. Reporter the accident happened just before 7 00. It is unclear why the 18yearold at the wheel struck the boy. That driver did stop and is cooperating with the brockton police. One of the aspects of the investigators is that there may have vehicle that could have influenced what happened without making contact, actually. Reporter accident reconstruction teams spent hours at the scene last night. Today flowers appeared near the roadway. The Brockton Community very upset by the boys death. As are his classmates at brockton high school. Officers say the driver who was very shaken has not been charged. This morning, investigators are seeking a warrant to remove the black box from the vehicle that struck the young man. The information such as the speed the vehicle was traveling at the time. Reporter that roadside memorial is expected to grow. The brockton superintendent of schools released a statement saying this boy was wellliked at the high school.
