is also facing charges for unlawful conduct towards a child. Our cameras were rolling in court just a few minutes ago when morris and barnwell went before a judge. The baby suffered mutliple skull fractures, a broken collarbone, a broken arm, a fractured eye socket, a fractured femur, and a spinal cord injury. The police chief spoke with us today, saying its the worst case hes seen. 3 its difficult not to take it home, especially when it involves a child. I mean, for me personally, my career spans about three decades and this case tops the list at one of the most egregious. Egregious. Prosecutors say the baby is suffereing from brain hemmorages and swelling. Police say she remains at ghs in critical condition. Morris was denied bond moments ago and the infants mother is being held on 75thousand dollar bond. 3 in pickens countyclemson
University Police
are investigating another vandalism at tillman hall. Hall. The campus building has been at the center of controversy for the past year. Many have called for it to be renamed because of its history. Its named after former governor ben tillman who was a known white surpemacist. In this latest vandalism incident. A message was spray painted on two walls of the building. They read stop honoring tillman. And on the adjacent wall. Rename tillman hall. Maintenance workers have since covered up the graffiti while they work 3 3 3 3 theres a better way to get your message out than defacing state property it is a crime and will be handled as such 3 3 3 i dont think that was necessary i think there are better ways to show that agree with something someone has to clean that up and thats kind of a burdan on the school to do that so i think there are better ways to solve problume than that that 3 initially, clemsons board of trustees said the name would not be changed. But the school eventually launched a task force to look at the universitys history and consider an official name change of tillman and other buildings on campus. That task force has yet to come to a decision on what comes next. Next. Officials say the vandalism happened sometime overnight or early this morning. after a chase that ended in a crash crash the
Sheriffs Office
says the chase began with police and that deputies and troopers joined to assist just before 11 this morning. They were chasing ended up rearending a pickup truck and crashed. The driver tried to run. But deputies were able to take both the driver and two passengers into custody. Their names and charges have not been released. 3 almost three months after a horrific crash in

october 11. 18 05 37it has been very emotional for this community. Boiling springs fire chief scott miller responded to the accident that left four usc upstate students dead and injured a fifth. After they wrapped their vehicle around this tree. Miller says the fatal wreck, and another one just a few days before it on this road. Have gotten plans to fix it. Some much needed attention. 3 3 3 18 06 50a total of five fatalities in less than two days. 18 05 30it usually takes tragedy to initiate change. The road is narrow, winding. And old. 3 3 18 26 23it was probably a farm to market road back when horse and buggies were used. It wasnt built for today. The coroner says speed was a factor in the crash that killed the four students. And chief miller tells me the road simply cant handle current traffic patterns. 18 07 50it really wasnt built for 4900 cars a day which is what the

is showing. 18 0911the posted speed limit is 25 miles an hour. The average speed of the cars going by us right now is 40 to 45 miles an hour. Which is why the county wants to do something about it. Spartanburg county engineer ron kirby showed me plans today to take some of the danger out of driving 4th street. 18 26 35what were looking at doing is taking out some of the very tight turns and also the vertical curves. Flattening those out. So it will make it a much smoother ride. 18 26 55 widen the road, add shoulders and flatten out the side slopes. But for 4th street residents like rex seay. Fixing the road may not stop speeders. Or prevent fatal crashes. 3 3 18 36 48speeding has always 3 the plans to fix this road are still in the beginning stages. And funding will come from taxpayers. About 2 to 3
Million Dollars
