Were looking at anywhere from 3 to 6 inches. Trace to coating possible. Keep in mind that the ground is very warm. Were not looking at request accumulation with this system. The search is on tonight for a group of men after two university of maryland students are attacked and robbed. Wjz is live. Derek valcourt has the latest on the attack. And the concerns on campus. Derek . There was a group of about 8 to 10 attackirs. And while the victims were not badly harmed, the real damage came to many students sense of safety. Reporter during the day, paint branch trail is a picture of autumn beauty. And it is busy. Hundreds of students use it every day to go between this massich Student Housing complex, and the university of maryland campus. Everybody who lives in this building, they have to go through this trail because its the closest to get to class. Reporter but at night, this treelined path is much darker. And it was dark sunday, when two male students were beaten and robbed by a group of 8 to 10 men. And right in front of where so may be students liver. We should be safe here. And that people are going to get attacked, its just scary. Reporter the attack happened around 3 00 in the morning. Thats usually the danger hour. Reporter security on the trail has always been a concern. There are lots of lights lights and these emergency call boxes scattered every few hundred feet. Many on campus favorite learned of the attack through an electronic email alert. Kind of looked like they were looking for somebody to attack in a group that day. The alarm even has male students looking over their shoulders. Its really scary. Theres nothing you can do about that. Its like excessive. Reporter one of the students who was beaten was briefly hospitalized. Both of the victims are expected to make a full recovery. The case still under investigation. There is new information about a deadly fire in college park this weekend. Mary is in the newsroom with more on that. Mary . Denise, the elderly man who died in the the Early Morning fires is 83yearold reginald aura. For more than 90 minutes, firefighters fought the flames in pal co court in college park. Covered with soot and shovels in hand. Crews worked from daybreak this afternoon, to find orems body. His wife managed to escape safely. She is being treated for smoke inhalation. Fire investigators dont know yet if excess debris caused the fire. But they say it did feed the flames. Back to you, denise. Prince georges county police say the home had an extreme amount of material inside, making it hard for firefighters to move around. Right now, wjz is following some breaking news. They do remain on the scene. But as you can see here, theyre starting to pull hoses. They should be wrapping up pretty quickly. This is on west fayette street, between north fayelt and poppel ton street. So west fayette street is obviously shut down. Nobody getting through here. But as far as we can tell, this fire is out. Some store owners are using guns to fight off looters. These american Storm Chasers became rescuers, when the typhoon tore through a hotel. Reporter they used mattresses to help guests escape. I can see electricity in the water, guys. Reporter 10s of thousands are feared dead. But the death toll is difficult to track because phone lines are down. Now, lets take a look at some mindboggling numbers, associated with this system. We saw speeds up to 195 miles per hour. Maximum wind gusts estimated to be around 235 miles per hour. Tonight, the investigation into a coverup of a massive drug investigation. Two men from baltimore. Pleading guilty to their involvement in silk road, a sophisticated criminal marnght place online. Reporter a site administrator, and drug dealer, both plead guilty to conspiracy for their tie tol a druck market. 32yearold jacob george iv of maryland admitted to federal investigators he had been buying heroin from dealers on the streets of baltimore, then reselling it on the silk road website. Crimes that used to occur on the streets are now occurring over the internet. Our Law Enforcement officers have followed the bad guys onto the internet. They think theyre anonymous. But the reality is, they can be traced. Reporter the feds traced curtis green, an administrator to the site of his home in utah. Law enforcement made controlled delivery of the drugs am so he had arranged for all of this anonymously over the internet, but he had to provide an address for them to be delivered. That led them right to his door. Reporter according to the agreement, green worked for the creator of silk road. The fbi arrested him and shut down the site last month. But a new website with the same name and look is now up, offering an itemized of illegal drugs. On twitter last week, the silk roads purported new operator announced, silk road is back up. Puoverall, prices are 23 cents lower than this time last year. I must admit, they affect me. I go in search of the lowest price i can find in the city of baltimore. Reporter and while gas prices usually drop in winter, this years loss is even more significant. A number. Things are to account. Were seeing a drop in demand. All things remaining the same, we certainly expect prices to continue to trend downward through the thanksgiving holiday and possibly hopefully through the end of the year.
