Reporter good morning yes, sir. Good morning everyone. The accident scene is right behind me, the Deputy Commissioner charged with the investigation says undercover officers witnessed a crime and were following the suspects honda. That car sped up and here a horrific crash. The vehicles fly into an adjacent street and parts travel 150 feet away. Three people are killed. This is Deputy Commissioner jerry rodriguez. The vehicle that the officers had seen involved in a criminal activity collided with another vehicle that was traveling and entered the intersection from the east towards the east. They collided. As a result of that collision, two individuals in the first vehicle that was initially observed by the officer succumbed to the injuries of the traffic collision. There was two other vehicles in the vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The passenger of that vehicle succumbed to their injuries. The driver is in critical condition. Now the officers involved are at a station house being questioned. The Deputy Commissioner passed on expressions of regret from the commissioner due to the loss of life, and police are investigating what happened and if their policies about chasing suspects were followed in this case. They do say they have accident reconstruction teams here on the scene because they want to know exactly what happened and how, and they expect this intersection to be closed throughout rush hour. Gunfire continued for a Third Straight day in Nairobi Kenya. Authority says a terrorist attack at an upscale mall has killed more than 60 people and left police battling with the gunmen to end the siege. A lot of casualties rushed in. Just trying to get them in and treated as fast as we could. The assault started saturday when gunmen stormed the west gate Shopping Mall. Alqaeda linked terrorist Group Alshabaab is claiming responsibility for the attack. The state Department Says americans are among the injured. President obama has spoken with kenyas president. To the kenyan people we stand with them against the terrible operations that occurred. The fbi is investigating claims that american citizens were involved in the attack. A Silver SpringMontgomery County resident was in kenya on business. She was at the mall when it happened. According to our media partner, the baltimore sun, 33yearold hopkins graduate elif yavuz was inside the mall on saturday. She and her husband were among the 62 People Killed by the terrorists. Yavuz was eight months pregnant. Today an investigation is underway after a 5monthold baby is found dead due to asphyxiation. Earlier this month, officers responded to the 1600 block of broadway for an unresponsive child. They found 5monthold ill jariyah morrison who stopped breathing. Her death has been ruled homicide by asphyxiation. Police have not said what charges have been filed or who they plan to charge. For the second time in a week tsa agents seize a stun gun from a woman on a flight out of bwi marshall airport. This stun gun was spotted in a georgia womans carry on bag friday morning as it went through the xray machine. Just three days earlier a woman from puerto rico tried to bring this pink stun gun through security at bwi. It was also confiscated. Former Anne Arundel County executive john leopold wants to run for Public Office while still on probation. Leopolds lawyer filed a brief this month with the Maryland Court of special appeals asking the condition barring him from running for office be stricken. Leopold resigned in february after being convicted of two misdemeanor counts of criminal misconduct. He served 30 days in jail, paid a fine and did community service. Jacoby jones used to getting hit on the football field but he was far from ravens stadium when he took a hard hit early monday morning. According to a report that first appeared on tmz, jones seen here in an Instagram Photo was attending bryant mckinnys Birthday Party at a d. C. Nightclub. He was inside a party bus with other ravens players when a brawl broke out and an exotic dancer smashed jones in the head with a giant champagne bottle. On the right you can see mckinnie holding the bottle in question. A Police Source says jones was profusely bleeding. I would like to think its not something those guys would want to be known for. The injury occurred in the 7th 7th inning of the orioles game at tampa bay. Machado running to 1st base when he steps awkwardly and twists his left knee crumble to the ground in pain. The worst fear is he will need surgery that could jeopardize his ability to play next season. The os will make an announcement on the extent of his injury likely tonight before their game at camden yards. Machado has started every game for the orioles since he made his debut last august. You can take north charles, or east belvidere to get around those road closures. Also an accident on Eastern Avenue at south drew, one more in sykesville on ruth 26. If youre headed out on the beltway speeds significantly slower on the west side outer loop partially because of that accident at frederick road. There is a look at the outer loop at frederick road.
