Right now, there are no evacuations planned for any city or towns in eastern North Carolina. And ocracoke in hyde county has suspended calls for evacuation. Of course, matthew is dominating the headlines today and will for at least a fe hurricane is churning through the bahamas and will approach the east coast of florida as potentially a devastating storm. Matthew is forecast to move up to South Carolina and weaken, before taking a turn to the north east and then east. On the projected path, matthew will never make landfall in North Carolina, but get as close as 75 miles to the south coast. Although a coast could still see gusty winds over 50 mph along with very heavy rainfall friday into saturday. And were still three days out, so the track forecast can change, and probably will. Right now, the impact here in central North Carolina would be minimal, with some rain and gusty winds, especially southeast of raleigh, friday night and saturday as chris mentioned.
