Mike right now we are tracking a category 3 storm, it was up to a category 4 yesterday. Top winds 145 Miles Per Hour as it hit h notice its well to the north of cuba and haiti and the rest of the dominican republic. Youll also notice here that we are tracking it right through the bahamas as a category 3 storm, top winds down to 120, but still a major hurricane. All those red blotches indicate hurricane warnings and Tropical Storm warnings to the south of miami. The latest track takes it right close to miami, ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and then it scoots right along the east storm. Then westerly flow in the jet stream will start to drive it for and eventually northeast, and since it will not be captured by the next disturbance it gets driven well out to sea as a matter of fact it wobbles to the east and then southeast, and may sit and spin out there east of florida for self days starting sunday, monday into tuesday. Of course with a track like that no impact for New Hampshire, but we do have plenty of changes in our weather, well look josh Hurricane Matthew has claimed at least 11 lives in the caribbean, five from haiti. The damage in the rural areas could be catastrophic. The majority of people there living in make shift homes. Authorities tried evacuating the most vulnerable ahead of time but many refuse to leave fearing theft. The death toll throughout in caribbean is at least eleven. The haitian government is reaching out to government for help in the relief effort. Its difficult to know at this time the extent of the damage, because in some of the hardest hit areas, communication is cut off. Josh you can track Hurricane Matthew in real time on wmur. Jean this trial is expected to wrap up tomorrow. Josh a controversial issue, but Goffstown Police tonight are saying bring it on, along with their side arms officers are putting on body camera this is week. As adam sexton explains, Officials Say build trust and lead to Better Police rests. Reporter the future is now at the Goffstown Police department where officers will be wearing body cameras fulltime by the end of the week. The technology has been integrated into daily patrols since 2015. It keeps that transparency between us and our community, so its been pretty positive. Reporter the lieutenant says across the country departments deploying body cameras see a officer use of force and citizen complaints. Just locally testing these in the last year, our complaints against officers are down 50 by just testing it. Reporter each body camera costs 399 and can record for about 12 hours, covering more than an entire shift. But the cameras wont be on all the time. Goffstown intends to use them only in Law Enforcement situations. So if were there for a for service or a traffic situation or accident, the body camera will be on. If were doing a walk through of our schools here, we wont turn it on. Reporter police are under increased scrutiny these days, their Job Description isnt getting any easier. Once again the seaks and the is seeing his numbers slip, he needs the debate to reframe the entire conversation. Reporter debate organizers say the audience will be made up of uncommitted voters, selected by the gallup organization. Sally kidd, wmur news 9. Mike well start you off in the tropics, more on Hurricane Matthew r about 120 Miles Per Hour. Still a potent category 3 storm. As you can see by the satellite picture here its slowly jogging to the northwest. You noticed yesterday, last night, early this morning it was northward at about five, six or seven Miles Per Hour of its picked up a little forward speed now moving to the northwest at 12 Miles Per Hour. Really battering the bahamas at this time. Look at the latest track, takes to it the northwest, not much of a change from the track state, eastern parts of florida and then it begins to churn more to the north, exactly where it tends up will dictate how much win they get and eventually it gets steered by westerly winds and the jet stream over the United States and that will kick the storm out to sea off to the east of the carolinas. Matter of fact by later sunday night into monday, instead of moving east northeastward north of of bermuda, it heads south water and may just sit and spin out here for quite some time. What does this track mean in southeastern part of the United States . Haley as a look at the warnings. Hayley this could be a big deal. The other problem is storm surge, especially along the east coast of florida. These are the latest watches, warnings, advisories thats been posted. If you have family members or if you even have a home in florida and youre worrying about it, this is what you need to know, so theres a hurricane warning for that area in the red. So north of miami and ft. Lauderdale, but then you got to jacksonville until you have a watch. Then those other areas, obviously the bahamas in this hurricane warning too, but the gulf coast is just a Tropical Storm watch at this point, not expecting any direct impacts there. So this map here shows you the wind probability and wherever you sigh that red color or the orange color, thats where there could be Hurricane Force winds, coming right into that east coast of florida. Right in the central part of the state. Then it continues to move up into the big bend South Carolina. So to give you some perspective these are the different scales that we look at. So category one, were not there, were stronger than that, were not even a category 3. This storm is likely to hit florida as a category 4 with upwards of 130mile per hour winds, that could cause extreme damage, thats why theyre having all those evacuations down there in florida. Closer to cape cod, and we would have dodged the wind. But unfortunately the drought continues and i dont see much in the way of any rain chances in terms of steady rain now for quite some time, really matthew was our one shot saturday night into sunday. Instead just a scattered shower chance by later saturday. 60s to around 70. But closer to the coast that wind is on shore, so it is much cooler in the mid to upper 50s in the chilly zone again, 30s and 40s. But a big recovery tomorrow into friday and saturday. Take a look at all the springlike warmth pushing to 80. 70s in cleveland. There is another front behind great lakes, that will begin the day the front itself as it works through may trigger a scattered shower chance later saturday, but not tomorrow, full sunshine statewide after Early Morning dense fog in the valleys. Same story on friday, a little patchy valley fog early, then full sunshine and temperatures on saturday above average. Look at the highs tomorrow, mid to upper 60s at the inland. And its going to be quite warm as we go into friday as temperatures take off in the mid to upper 70s. Couple of spots may come close to 80. By saturday, sun and clouds, the cold front means the chance of a passing shower in the afternoon. Rapid clearing early on sunday. Then it will turn breezy and cooler, speaking of cool, quite chilly for columbus day on monday, then a warmup to or jean thanks mike. Coming up after the break we talk to congressional candidates about fighting isis. Josh at 5 30 he admits to luring victims through online im Hillary Clinton and i approve this message. Id look her right in that fat ugly face of hers. Shes a slob. She ate like a pig. A person whos flat chested is very hard to be a 10. Does she have a good body . No. Does she have a fat [expletive] . Absolutely. Do you treat women with respect . I think my strongest asset, maybe by far, is my temperament. Id like to punch him in the face, ill tell you. I could stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot somebody and i wouldnt lose any voters, okay . And you can tell them to go [bleep] themselves. Get him out of here get him out of here get the hell out of here priorities usa action is responsible josh commitment 2016, we asked the candidates for congress what more should the u. S. Be doing to fight isis and the threat of radical terror. Here are the answers from the First District candidates. Weve had a lack of leadership from our president , and i think as a result youre seeing isis stronger, not just in syria and the middle east but now pursuing terrorist activity in europe and here a just most recently with the orlando terrorist attack. Our president is not just a national but a Global Leader and needs to act as such. And identify the threat set out the opportunity to eliminate and eradicate isis, not just only with the United States, but with our friends and allies around the world and in the region. And unless and until that happens, isis is going to better in terms of the fact that isis is losing a lot of its caliphate or its state. In the past six months theyve lost about 15 of their state and they actually are openly telling their followers that they might lose their state. And then theyre encouraging them to go on and continue these attacks. So we need to keep working with these countries. Saudi arabia has about 34 countries theyre working with now, so finally were seeing results in the people who live there recognize the danger, the great challenge, nato is involved and i think thats good and i think that we have the appropriate role right now. But its a long slog. The fact that isis is actually losing its caliphate is
