Well, we got weather the our of this world right now. 56 degrees in september. And were on our way to the 60s again, rob. Amazing. The interesting thing is theres no sign in the short anywhere. The warm trend continues. Lets walk over to the weather wall. Ll show you the details. As i go over there, lets go outside and take a look at the beautiful rink at rockefeller center. And the tree, so many visitors from all over the worts and all over the five boroughs in the tristate having great weather to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery at this time of the year. Mostly sunny skies, 56 degrees, lets go to the headlines right now and see whats happening we are actually im going to step out and pick up another clicker at this point and make sure thesore under warranty. There we go, we are seeing this warm air, stick with us for the near term, everyone. I think into next week, were going to be talking about temperatures which are between, lets say, five and 15 degrees above the norm. Looking like a record breaker as we head into this weekend. 64 is the record today. We could get up to 62 or sho so. Showers to start the week, thats not going to change the thermometer much. All right. Why do we have all of this warm weather . Well, el nino sets the stage by bringing warm air or making it available to us and bringing it in from the west. Then you have a bermuda high right over us that kind of adds that warmth. It steers it right over the tristate area and locks it in. Then you have the polar jet, and that sits up north keeping all the cool air up above us. And not getting into our region. So we wind up with ten degree to 20 degree temperatures. Above the norm. City. 58 on long island in month talk. You want to know where the cool air is . Its right here. It is over the cascades, the Sierra Nevada into the pacific northwest. And the rest of the country seeing rather warm temperatures. We are goingen to stay dry, at least today, tomorrow, and nday. But there is some rain in the forecast as we head to monday. 49 degrees should be our temperature tonight. Well see patchy cloudiness, could see a repeat of a little bit of fog. Few temperatures in the 30s as you head into the suburbs outside of the city, and of course, last night, we had patchy fog too. You have to watch out for that limited visibility. As far as the weekend goes, it is going to feel like spring once again. 62 degrees tomorrow, were not going to set a record tomorrow, because the temperature record , i think about 68 degrees. Its significantly warmer than today or sunday. But sunday, again, the record stand at 64 degrees from 1923, at that number or even warmer on sunday. So, a spectacular weekend to get in all that shopping, and everything you need to do if you have outdoor plans, make them, dont cancel them, and celebrate. Here is your sevenday forecast, everyone. As we head through the next several days, look at the temperatures, 62, 64, 60, and even as we head to monday, where we see some changes in the sky conditions, and breezy and cooler air do roll in, the temperature is still in the mid to upper 50s. Breezy and cooler conditions, i think monday we could see some temperatures, or i should say some showers roll in during the second half of the day, during the overnight and then well see breezy and cooler conditions wednesday and thursday, thats when well see some breezes kick in, and warm moisture coming in our direction, but look at that, we are still at 50 degrees next friday when the High Temperature is still typically in the lower 40s. So well above normal for the could we see much cooler temperatures as we head into ristmar . Could be possible. But its still a very far way away to accurately call that. Well keep our eyen to. That seems to be the trend at this point, but too early to stick with the forecast. And dave, el nino gives more ra in to california and makes us warmer, right . Again, what its going to do for us is give us above normal temperatures, and above normal precipitation. Keep in mind, thats a very tricky, you know, if youre above normal temperature wise, buart still below the freezing mark, and above normal precipitation wise, you could wind up with heavy snow. So we have to watch it, but right now, were seeing the dry weather and the warm temperatures. Much. New york live coming up next here at 12 30, here ear sara with whats ahead.
