Suffolk county police say the shooting happened around 2 00 this morning on glenn velour street. The person has serious injuries and there may be a second victim. Just eavesdropping on some of the conversations of the detectives, they tell us it is a gruesome scene in there. Police tell us an argument turned into a violent confrontation with two men. It ended up with a 62yearold man stabbed in the neck. He died. The person who stabbed him, according to police, took off. It happened minutes before midnight here on lexington avenue near 124th street. This is called the boulevard homeless shelter. It is for men. Can occupy only about 100 people. The problem with homelessness has been in the news of late. The Comptrollers Office says theres been 18,000 health or safety violations at the shelters and reports of violent thats increased by 55 from 2012 compared to 2015.
