These trees go for hundreds of feet and also this, take a look at some of these limbs were a couple hundred feet from where the top of the tree originated from. That gives you an idea of how powerful that storm was earlier today not only did it knock down the trees it took out the tops of a house. I mean, look at this, the roof of this house is missing. Were told the man that lives here just happened to escape the danger because he took a trip to walmart just before the storm blew through. Now, im told that according to the durham Sheriffs Department no one was injured. Luckily no one was inside that car at the time. And this was the scene this raleigh as parents picked up their kids, parents said it was a smart plan though. I was concerned for their safety because weve had tornados come through here before, and im glad that im having the opportunity to get her early. And a similar scene in durham where threats of a tornado prompted several business and the schools to shut down early. School was schedule today dismiss two hours early and the district increase that had to 3 hours. Fort bragg schools also released students starting at noon yesterday about 15 minutes prior to the release though a Tornado Warning was issued for cumberland. We called Fort Bragg School officials hotel us that at that point it was too late to alter the early dismissal plans so they stuck with it.
