It shows there are good people out there that are willing to help the police at times of emergency. Now last word the officer was undergoing a cat scan to see if he suffered a concussion. He is in stable with nonlifethreatening injuries. They know who the suspect is and where he lives, it is just a matter of time before they catch up with him.
