Tuesday night jim is off, im Rick Williams and the big story on action news is a week straight of 90 degree plus highs, tomorrow this heat wave will become the longest of the year and it could even stretch through another weekend, metrologist cecily tynan is at the action big board with a look at the forecast cecily. A heat wave has now gone for seven days now, the good news is it peaked already. The worst of it was saturday when the heat index rose all the way up to 111 but seven days ties as the longest heat wave of the year in late july and this heat wave has the potential to last five more days but temperatures will be in the low 90s and the humidity tomorrow will not be as high as today. The highest heat index in philadelphia rose up to 106 degrees today. Tomorrow the heat index should be below 100 so we do not have excessive heat warning and is good news. Storm tracker six double scan between 4 008 00 showing we had a good line of thunderstorms that caused damage in burkes and scattering of storms in burkes and Chester County east of 222, approaching honey brook, nothing severe with this but that is ahead of a cold front and behind that cold front we get a break. Right now dew points are in the 70s. At the open air market food is turning extra quickly. Everything is ripening really fast and by tomorrow they are yellow already. One person is in Critical Condition following a house fire in Delaware County, the flames broke out about 8 30 at an apartment on the 300 west 21st street and rescue crews had to remove the victim from a window and rushed to the medical center, no word yet on what caused the fire. Two Police Vehicles rushing to an emergency call tonight collided here in the logan section of philadelphia. They were responding to the report of a shooting and broad but it turned out to be someone setting off fireworks. Last night a jury found her guilty of a criminal conspiracy to leak secret grand jury information as pay back in a political vendetta and lying about it under oath kane was the first woman ever elected to the states top Law Enforcement post and says her efforts to break up what she called an Old Boys Network in State Government was the reason she was prosecuted that people were trying to silence her her investigate porn gate led to resignation of officials including two state Supreme Court justices however the judge would not allow her to use that as a defense at trial. Now kane faces up to 7 years in prison for perjury and plans to appeal the conviction.
