Amazing feeling not only for villanova but for the city of philadelphia who is starving for their first championship since the 2008 phillies. For the city i think it would be great. I think our professional teams are unfortunately not doing too hot and i think that if we could do that, i think that would be bring great pride to the city. We havent had a championship there in awhile and first to come to houston to be able to do that for the city and our university would be great. Reporter the phillies and the soul are the only two teams in philadelphia that have won claims since villanovas last parade in 1985. The city, yeah, is starving for another parade on broad street and villanova is only 40 minutes of basketball away from winning it all. Theyre taking on the North Carolina tarheels tonight. Can you wait for the National Championship game . Were live in houston at the final four, Jeff Skversky, channel6 action news. Guys. Thank you, jeff. And with a victory celebration of course top of the mind for many on the main line local officials though are gearing up for a long night. Radnor Township Police have set up a command center in their headquarters to monitor the game and of course all the activity on the streets. State and local Police Departments elsewhere say they are also ready to help out in case anything does get out of hand. Meantime excitement is building on campus itself. In less than three hours the doors of the pavilion open to students for a giant watch party and walter perez continues our Team Coverage from villanova with more on that. Hi, walter. Reporter hey, monica. We havent seen a single soul on Campus Student faculty not wearing some kind of villanova basketball gear somewhere on their body. The campus is psyched and focused on tonights mission, beat carolina and win the First National title since 1985. Nova nation simply cant wait. Reporter the wildcats seem to be peaking out at the right time coming off that dominating performance against oklahoma on saturday and the enthusiasm of students here on campus is peaking out as well. Its insane. Saturday night was one of the craziest nights ive ever experienced. It was awesome. Atmosphere was insane. Reporter tonight a watch party is planned at the pavilion as villanova basketball merchandise continues to fly out the door cbs3 Eyewitness News makes it to the university store. The bookstore is a revolving door of gear coming in. If you dont get your size within 10 minutes of it being out youre not getting it for another shift. Reporter while everyone is looking forward to the cats winning the National Title security on and around campus is a concern tonight. Radnor township and state police will have patrol and mounted units securing the area all as maintenance workers have already greased light and utility poles to keep revelers from climbing them after the final buzzer. The other precaution is having the championship gear and merchandise ready if and when villanova beats carolina. The bookstore has ordered 5,000 championship shirts that will go to printer once the game is over assuming the cats pull through. The championship placed about six weeks ago. The vendor had the rendering of the artwork ready to go. Tomorrow morning when we win well be picking up from nike in new jersey and bringing thathem back tomorrow morning. Reporter on a slightly more serious note the president of the university sent out a letter earlier today encouraging everybody to celebrate responsibly. All classes tonight after 6 00 p. M. Have been canceled. All classes tomorrow are still on schedule but University Officials say that is subject to change. Reporting live from villanova, walter perez, channel6 action news. Rick. Walter, thank you. And we want to see how you are cheering on the wildcats tonight. Our big board is full of viewer photos and videos and we want you to join the action as well. Send us your photos on social media using 6abcaction. We are expecting an update from federal officials in less than 30 minutes about yesterdays deadly crash involving an amtrak train. At this point it is still unclear just who is at fault. That train hit a backhoe at about 8 00 yesterday morning in chester Delaware County. Action News Reporter john rawlins live on the scene for us for the latest on the investigation. John. Reporter well, the latest, monica, is it will come up in about 30 minutes when the ntsb does brief us. They have been mum so far today. One of the things they have been looking at is what was going on on the tracks at the time of the deadly incident. So, what went wrong . Given safety protocols how did the southbound train end up fatally slaming into a backhoe . Yesterday the ntsb said it has a locomotives event recorder which will supply some answers as to the trains speed and what the engineer saw and did approaching the collision. Were still gathering the facts at this time. As of now we have recovered the event data recorder, the forward facing video and the end ward facing video from the locomotive to send to our laboratory in washington, d. C. Reporter the train came to a stop near bishop street in trainer. The actual impact was up the track near the booth street bridge in chester. At the time this large yellow track maintenance machine sometimes called a rail vac or vac train was in place on a closed track. Sometimes backhoes assist the vac trains crew. Its also normal for a safety supervisor to be on location and be in radio contact with dispatchers in order to avoid a collision. Investigators are expected to look at the instructions given sunday to dispatchers, the engineer and work crews. Were they all on the same page or was there a failure to communicate . So we should be getting a better idea of what the ntsb has been looking at today, what it has learned and what it can report so far today when it gives its briefing in about 30 minutes. Live in trainer, john rawlins, channel6 action news. Monica. Thank you, john. There are often people that have very lie levels of cholesterol that need to be lowered. Many already have coronary Heart Disease or other manifestations of high cholesterol. The injectable drugs seem to work better than the new pill but it is still very expense is. Reporter it costs about 14,000 a year. Also today, the size your waist could help predict the chances for Heart Disease better than looking at body weight or body mass index. Researchers followed 200 men and women with diabetes. They have a greater risk for Heart Disease but none in the study had symptoms. Doctors found the greater the waste size, the more problems that someone had with their hearts main pumping chamber and that can lead to Heart Disease and to heart failure. Now other studies have shown this as well but fat in the abdominal area possess a greater risk than fat elsewhere in the body. The apple shape is actually more dangerous
