Well, one thing that remains opened during the Government Shutdown new jerseys casino business. But if the shutdown extends past friday, casinos in the garden state can shut down. Thats because of a law passed back in 2008 which allows casinos to stay running for up to seven days into a Government Shutdown. Officials say theyre looking for ways to make sure that doesnt happen especially with casinos regaining momentum in recent months. Crews were called to the 2900 block of long shore avenue around 11 30 this morning. Where inside Police Found Evidence the rental property was being used to grow synthetic marijuana. Undercover officers told action news on the scene that it appears the chemical acetone which is used to treat the plants may have fueled the flames. Some type of fight led to a shooting in the feltonville section of philadelphia. The victim was shot once in the leg around 1 oclock this morning. Police found him along the 4700 block of rising sun avenue and rushed him to temple hospital in critical condition. So far no one has been arrested. Officials in delaware say they will not hand over detailed voter information to the president s voting commission. The commission asked for the information as part of an investigation into alleged voter fraud in last years elections. Today delawares state commissioner said releasing such information would not preserve the fairness or integrity of elections in the first state. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf also said he will not comply with the president s order. New jersey officials have not yet responded publically. The fourth of july is just hours away but its safe to say holiday activities are already in full swing around the region. That includes up and down the jersey shore packed with people looking to enjoy the beach on this hot and sunny long weekend. Saturday as expected, fell 1 degree shy of 90, 89 degrees. Ahead of that cold front and then behind it it was back in the heat yesterday, 91 degrees, lower humidity yesterday than saturday, though and today currently 90. So not a heat wave but definitely warm, above the normal high of 87 degrees. If youre stepping outside right now its 90 in philadelphia. Its also pretty hot to the south. Washington, d. C. 91. Richmond 92, although dewpoints have dropped into the 50s. We had dewpoints in the 60s yesterday. Holding at 59 degrees. So, humidity really not a factor but as we head through the overnight hours it will get slightly more humid. So this is what to expect for your fourth of july. All in all pretty nice. We are following developing news out of boston where 10 people were hurt after a taxi driver jumped the curb near the citys airport. All the victims were lined up to get a cab at bostons logan international. Officials believe the taxi driver accidentally stepped on the gas instead of stepping on the brakes. One of the victims was seriously hurt. A bus crash on a german highway has taken the lives of 18 people and left 30 other people hurt. Authorities say the busloaded with Senior Citizens slammed into a tractortrailer that was stopped in traffic in bavaria. The crash touched off a fire so intense that firefighters couldnt get in to rescue those trapped. No word yet on why the bus driver didnt slow down. This is our Temple University camera seeing lots of sunshine, a few fair weather cumulus clouds popping up and we do have temperatures in the 90s. So, if youre out and about tonight, it stays on the warm side. Basically we are in the 80s right through 8 oclock and then as we head towards midnight, temperatures dropping down into the 70s. So, definitely a warm evening and your fourth of july forecast is looking pretty nice. Were looking at generally dry conditions. There will be an isolated shower or thunderstorm popping up but most of the region will be rain flee. Temperatures will be on the warm side, slightly on the humid side but not oppressive.
