Yeah, rick, were in month three of this preliminary hearing and still no word if these frat members will be held for trial but a possible defense is beginning to take shape. Defense attorneys want to call penn state football trainer tim been to testify. He was a live in adviser to the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house. They want to know what he knew about the alcohol fueled pledge event that led to the death of 19yearold timothy piazza. It appears Defense Attorneys are trying to lay blame on breen. If he cant foresee that this creates the kind of problems and risks that the da are arguing our clients should have seen. At this point mr. Bren was not there participating that night. He didnt buy alcohol, he didnt contribute to serving alcohol, he didnt participate in the gauntlet. A retired state trooper says he hasnt been able to serve breen with aspen nap despite contacting University Lawyers and authorities at the building where breen. The judge will hold a contempt hearing later this month. Breen has not been charged with any crime. Prosecutors expect breen to take the fifth amendment and not testify. If theres evidence that someone wants to give the prosecution about mr. Breen bring it. Otherwise i dont feel comfortable talking about it as if hes in trouble for something. The beach at margate today, heavy machinery used in the dunes project still parked but the corps of engineers say with yesterdays federal court order work is expected to resume early next week. This afternoon margates mayor and lawyers made a bid to delay the resumption until after labor day. The city is convinced the project is damaging its beach. You can see between the vine and the blue route 23 minutes. Now on the eastbound side we do have some backups and theyre still taking you just about 40 minutes. 30 minutes between the blue route and the vine so definitely give yourself time out there eastbound but looks like things are wrapping up for you on that westbound side. The fda says five people who were using a balloon weight loss treatment have died since 2016. Thats just a short time after those devices were approved. Theres a few on the market and they are minimally invasive. The device goes through the mouth, then the balloon or balloons are inflated. It mimics the feeling of fullness. A 93yearold world war ii veteran is traveling to a remote japanese mountainside to deliver something a promise he made to himself while he was on the battlefield there. This is the first stop in his 10,000mile journey to return a japanese flag. It belonged to a japanese soldier he came across when he got separated from his squad and was that behind enemy lines.
