Matt. Thanks, matt. Developing overnight someone may have tried to set a Philadelphia Police cruiser on fire in the citys logan section. It happened at the 35th Police District on the 5900 block of north broad street at 8 30 last night. An officer noticed a cruiser in the parking lot had a goods cap opened and found a burnt piece of paper stick out of the gas tank. While the piece of paper was burned, the fire did not spread to the gas tank or the cruiser so the car was not damaged and the officer was not hurt. An outburst of violence in the citys mayfair section left a teenager dead and two others fighting for their lives. Reporter and matt, all morning homicide detectives have been interviewing witnesses and also have been over at that crime scene. Like you said, a 17yearold has been killed. Also another teenager and adult male are still in the hospital and police say this could have been even worse considering where the shooting took place. Well, take a look at this video. This is video from the scene. Police say multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired came into police just after 9 oclock last night. Fifteenth District Police officers responded to an alley by the 3100 block of sterling. Witnesses told officers several people fled on bikes or were taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Now a 21yearold shot in the neck ran to the 15th district for help. Police transported him to the hospital. Two teens, a 16yearold shot in the torso an 17yearold shot in the chest were also taken privately to aria frankford. The 16yearold is still in critical. The 17yearold taken in critical died at the hospital. Police spent most of the morning combing through the extensive crime scene. We did find some businesses that do have exterior surveillance cameras in the area so detectives right now are trying to see if we can get a copy of those recordings. Where this shooting tack place is just directly across the street from a playground and a Recreation Center so we know that theres normally a lot of teenagers, young adults, some even tender aged children that are usually in the area at this time. Reporter now, at the scene police did recover at least one gun. There were also several bicycles that were left behind. What homicide detectives are trying to figure out now is if the people who were shot were in fact suspects and possibly were the ones who fired weapons.
