Reporter is it a Significant Development into the investigation of the murder that happen here over the weekend or a tragic coincidence that speaks more to the level of crime here at petworth that has heretofore gone largely unnoticed. Pursuing investigations of two crime that happened within hours of each other may bear that out. Sources tell news4 that investigators are exploring the possible connection between the Fatal Shooting of Neil Godleski after midnight last sunday and a shooting that happened earlier saturday evening in the 4700 block of illinois avenue northwest. It is one of the streets that feeds on to sherman circle. The sources say that shell casings from the earlier shooting involving a teenage victim who was wounded could be a match with those associated with the Fatal Shooting later that same evening. Police continue to investigate the shooting of 31yearold Catholic University student Neil Godleski, shot several times as he rode his bicycle toward the circle. He was pronounced dead a short time later in nearby hospital. Neil was the sweetest person you could have ever met. Last night a vigil was held at the site where he fell. It is making its way through the region. There are a couple 73 storm toward southern virginia. Thats about it. The front will usher in some great weather over the next couple days. Something else. We have two storms. This is hurricane danielle. Look at the eye right here. The eye really well formed. Just a category two storm but it is expected to become a category 3. And it is just onemileanhour away from it. The current winds are 110 miles an hour. Category 3 storm at 111 miles an hour. So again, this is expected to back major hurricane as it makes its way toward the northwest at about 13 miles an hour passing to the east. Thats good news but theyll see some high surf, the winds as well. It will impact our shoreline if youre thinking about going down to the beach on saturday, sunday, maybe into monday. Look for some high surf and the potential for rip currents. Be careful out. There Tropical Storm earl striking at 45 miles an hour. Making its way toward the west and then it too, too, is expected to go away from the United States. So that so far, some good news. There are a couple more waves behind those two systems. So well continue to watch an active Tropical Storm season. There is that area of High Pressure diving on down. That is going to dominate our weather over the next couple of days. And give us what i think could be one of the best weekends weve seen so far this summer. With men of sunshine, low humidity and temperature just a little bit above average.
