This is allegheny county, pennsylvania, where icy conditions made driving nearly impossible. This car couldnt make it up even a very small hill. Other drivers ended up in the same situation sliding across the slippery roads. A thick sheet of ice also made things difficult in tennessee. Dozens of accidents forced police to shut down roads, as officials declared a state of emergency. Charlotte, north carolina, is coping with the same kind of trouble. Traffic crawled along the interstate there, but that still wasnt enough to keep some drivers on the pavement. And this snow in ohio was particularly frustrating for parents and teachers. The flakes started falling during the morning rush hour. Many School Districts didnt make the call to close until it was too late. Students were sent home almost as soon as they arrived for class. Right around this area near this bus stop according to police and the number 62 bus stops right here and would take her to tacoma park, but police are investigating why she was here. I was more angry than sad. Genesis new yez is filled with pain. Her close friend, 18yearold friend was murdered. She didnt deserve it. Reporter tonight we learned d. C. Police arrested 21yearold alexander buckley. Detectives say he shot and killed her at 2 00 this morning at this street and nickelson street northwest. Police say the two knew each other but havent released details about their relationship. Do you know how she knew this guy . Was he a boyfriend, a relative . I dont know how he lives. Reporter she just graduated from high school in silver spring. She worked at the Starbucks Coffee stand at giant and had a big heart for her family and friends. She always kept laughing no matter what. She was always going through something or something was always happening and she was always happy. Reporter again, the number 62 bus stops right here and would, if that was the case, take her to her grandmothers house which is two miles away. Her grandmother tells us she is really upset about all of this and shes grieving. We respected her wishes and she didnt have to talk on camera. New information tonight about a deadly crash involving an ambulance in southeast d. C. Police tell us the victim is a woman, but her name and age havent been released yet. Were told the womans suv hit an ambulance about 2 30 this afternoon on southern avenue near 12 street southeast. The impact flipped the suv over and then it caught on fire and pushed the ambulance into another car. Two paramedics were also hospitalized with injuries. They are both expected to be okay. Now, to a developing story overseas. Chaos and violence on the streets of egypt tonight on the second anniversary of the revolution there. Once again, tens of thousands of protesters around the country are demanding a change in leadership. At least seven people have been killed while hundreds of others have been hurt. As nbc reports, protesters believe this is critical for their nation. Those that we spoke to today say they were angered by the rise of islams politicians, including morsi. They accuse the president and his supporters of dividing the country, taking control of not only political life, but all aspects of social life and, more importantly, ruining the countrys economy and leaving it in shambles. But in all these cities, there were clashed between the police and the protesters. Protesters threw stones and fire bombs and the police fired back with tear gas and rubber bullets. There have been fatalities, as well as 200 or more casualties. Im coming here to ask for the same demands we were demanding two years ago which are liberty and social justice. Up next on news 4, a deputy dragged several feet as the suspect tries to make a get away. The clue that the suspect left behind that led to his arrest. The stadium demolition doesnt go exactly as planned and hes a mayor by day, a hero by night. Why some are calling this new video shows a routine arrest of a get away. A Florida Deputy was attempting to handcuff a man for shoplifting when the suspect put up a fight and took off. The deputy was dragged several feet before he could get loose. The suspect dropped his wallet during the fight and that sent police right to his home. The deputy is recovering. The man was originally wanted for stealing some sunglasses and lip blm and now facing more serious charges. Daniel harmine wright is accused of shooting and killing 54yearold Patricia Cooke while checking out a suspicious vehicle report last february. Today in court, he choked up as he told the jury he shot cooke because he feared she would try to kill him with her vehicle. Jurors were also taken out to the crime scene today. We dont see it very often and its because of those very cold temperatures. The snow we saw today, much more like the snow they get out towards colorado and utah. The stuff that is so good for skiing. High temperature today only 25 degrees and the low of 19 and average high is 44. And check this out, four days in a row below freezing. We are approaching next hour will be 100 hours below the freezing mark. How about that. We need to get above, we need to get out of the ice box and it does look like that is going to happen, maybe even tomorrow. Radar, nothing to show right now. The snow has now moved out of the region but you can see where it was before. All the snow moving through very quickly. Within five, six hours it was out of here. Now, were watching some snow back to the west and notice how it is moving our way. This will not get here and make its way over the mountains and i would not be surprised to see a couple snowflakes form as they move over our region. No accumulated snow and still back to the west, back towards garret county, maryland. 24 degrees. Thats the current number and look at the wind chill, also 24. The winds have calmed just a little bit and picking up early tomorrow morning, though. That is one thing that will set our wind chills back just a little bit. 19 in frederick and 23 in manassas and the deep freeze just continues here and lets take you hourbyhour for tomorrow. Probably the best ski weekend weve had all winter longall th Liberty Mountain and 44 trails open at snow shoe and west virginia. Theyve got nearly a foot of snow in the last week down towards wintergreen and virginia. Currently 19 trails open. If youre a skier, this weekend could be the weekend to do it. 35 on your sunday. 42 on monday, but some am rough spots. Well talk about this. 59 on your tuesday and look what happens wednesday. We get to 60 with a good chance for rain. Maybe some heavy rain and then much colder thursday and friday. Back below freezing, i think, friday and into the weekend. How about monday .
