Her coworkers tell me that they are grieving, too upset to talk on camera about this tragedy. One man described her as a really nice person. The 21yearold was found in her car in Spotsylvania County sitting in the drivers seat with severe trauma to the upper body. Right now investigators tell me theyre receiving tips, but they have not identified a person of interest or suspect. Someone who lives on piney branch road saw heathers car and called spotsylvania deputies earlier today. Tonight detectives tell me this is a homicide investigation. Investigators also tell us that theyre talking to her coworkers at red robin and theyre looking into who she came in contact with on social media. Theyre also searching for a possible motive. Investigators observe anyone with information about this homicide to give them a call. In fredericksburg, im shomari stone, news4. Also right now in spotsylvania, 19yearold Katelin Akens is missing. Akens family dropped her off at the Franconia Metro station on saturday. She was headed to Reagan National airport to catch a flight. But akens never arrived at her destination, according to her family. Today her luggage was discovered in a Drainage Ditch on river road near fredericksburg. Just try to help us find her. Tonight the San Bernardino community is holding three more vigils to remember the 14 People Killed last week. This candlelight vigil was for county employees who lost their colleagues in the attack. Meanwhile, the person with ties to a San Bernardino gun range says sayed farouk took target practice for two to three hours last monday. The fbi says tonight the couple was seen at multiple ranges practicing, and managers at a 21 Story Building in l. A. Say someone looking like farouk tried unsuccessfully to get in to the building the past few weeks. Reporter the officer i interviewed tonight is known here in Montgomery County as the dui king. He has taken numerous drunken drivers off the roadways. And this young officer was following in his footsteps. Officer john romak took liotta under his wing. He wanted to go out and make a difference. And he also had a deep compassion to treat people with compassion and respect as he did his job. Reporter liotta became a fullfledged officer in the department, sharing romacks passion for going after drunk drivers, even volunteering for the dui task force. He was excited to do it not in a mean way but to keep everybody safe. Reporter he was working on the task force thursday night on Rockville Pike when he was hit and critically injured by a driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Romack has visited him in the hospital after he fights for his life after suffering a traumatic head injury. You dont want it to be any officer. Somebody you personally trained, you rode with for a year, you care about deeply, youve been to each others homes for get together, arties, birthdays, its shocking. Reporter the driver, luis berlusco, a 47yearold man from olney. He refused to take a breathalyzer. Results from a blood test are pending. So far he has not been charged. Liotta is just 24 years old. Between 2010 and 2012 candles were the source of an estimated 6500 residential fires annually. Also fires sparked by holiday lights caused ten deaths last year. Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked this deadly Apartment Fire in Frederick County. This blaze broke out on west main street in emmitsburg. One person died. Two others have serious injuries. The Frederick CountyFire Department tells us three people were trapped in the building. Several families in nearby buildings had to be evacuated. No word yet on what caused the fire. Parents in Montgomery County say tonight they still have questions about radon after high levels of the dangerous gas were found in several county schools. The district says it will retest every floor level room and ever school. Theyll also work with the epa to create a new more frequent testing program. The district came under fire because the high radon levels just came to light last week, even though the testing was done years ago. I am encouraged that theyre going to do the testing of all schools. However, i think there needs to be more done. Radon is a colorless, odorless gas. Its been linked to lung cancer.
