This blaze broke out about 3 00 in the 8400 block of sullenberger court. As you can see in the live picture, flames destroyed the roof of the house. The blaze was brought under control in less than half an hour. No word on what caused this fire. Residents were not home at the time. Singer bobby brown has been arrested again on suspicion of drunk driving for the second time this year. They pulled him over this morning in los angeles. He was booked and released on 25,000 bail. Brown pleaded no contest to dui earlier this year. Brown was married to whitney houston, who died in february from an accidental drowning. Turning now to the weather. Veronica is here with the latest word about our weather and Hurricane Sandy. Right. Hurricane sandy as we look toward the weekend and next week, this could be a very big storm system for parts of the east coast. Right now we know today, its been pounding areas of jamaica. Theres certainty on what it will do for cuba and southeastern bahamas, then on beyond that, chances are pretty high, about 60 , 70 chance that part of the east coast will be impacted with rain and wind. Lets talk about what we know right now as we head over to the weather wall. As far as the confidence on sandys track, here we go. Right near the coast, the confidence is up on that track, with a lot of the computer models now coming on board and taking it in that direction, or many of them. Major problems for the east coast. And again, a destructive storm, this system could be for some with some heavy rain and possible flooding. Out there right now today, weve got 79 degrees. We got rid of the clouds and even the morning sprinkles, 79 degrees. Plenty warm with some locations just down to the south getting into the low and mid80s, from warrenton, Prince William county, fredericksburg, and culpepper, 81 to 85 degrees. We could easily tie the record High Temperature for today. So in the short term, again, weve got areas of clearing skies, High Pressure moves in, and dont have to go too far to notice this. Again, the outer most edge of what is sandy, as a hurricane right now. The clouds hitting areas around key west and miami. You can see the spin there as it comes right over jamaica. So its on to areas of cuba, and then the bahamas, with that track as a hurricane, going right to the east of florida. Very close to florida. Again, a lot of the guidance taking the storm system more and more toward the outer banks of north carolina, toward areas of delaware, and even coastal new jersey. So it could weaken as it makes its way through the bahamas. Then it will have chance to strengthen again. This could be a very strong storm wa high impact of wind and rain on sunday for areas through north carolina, southeastern areas of virginia, areas around norfolk and virginia beach. And then on toward rehoboth and ocean city on sunday, with rain and wind. Saturday, were okay. But then on monday, monday it looks like the day when we could be impacted the highest. Monday and early tuesday, with rain and wind. We could be looking at winds as the storm system makes its way northward about 60 Miles Per Hour for several hours on monday. Were talking a lot of rain, too, with a slowmoving system. Coastal areas get hit the hardest with coastal flooding, heavy rain. And that means power outages, too, possible with that sustained wind. Here we go in our forecast for the evening. A few clouds. Were very warm. 73 to 78 degrees. By tomorrow morning, were mostly clear. Another warm start for us at 50 to 60 degrees with a light wind. Then tomorrow afternoon, still warm at 71 to 76 degrees. Heres a look at the fourday forecast. Warm 71 to 75. Dry, too, for thursday and friday. Saturday, upper 60s. Again, with no impact here. And those religious leaders know the clout they carry. What were also seeing which is really interesting is a split between Church Leaders and civil rights groups. Youve seen julian bond, the face of the naacp speaking out in support of samesex marriage, while religious leaders say this is a moral issue, and they cant side with the civil rights group. You know civil rights the Civil Rights Movement was borne out of the black church. So this is a huge deal in the county. Weve seen the ads here. I was up in baltimore over the weekend. Ministers taking to the airwaves over those issues there, too. Your station has a big town hall coming up. Absolutely. Weve got to talk about this in a big way because people are so confused with the messages coming out.
