Right now attorney general eric holder is at home after spending three hours in the hospital. He was in a morning meeting with senior staffers and the Justice Department said he started feeling faint and shortness of breath. Chris gordon was the first news crew at med star when we learned of this health scare. Reporter we have new information tonight about the medical problem and treatment that the attorney general received. Here in the emergency room behind me at med star. He arrived about 10 30 with an elevated heart rate which means it felt his heart was pounding in his chest too fast. Doctors gave him medication and within a short period of time his heart rate returned to normal levels. However this is a symptom that several years ago he had experienced in a milder form so today was cause for concern. As a precaution his security detail wanted attorney general eric holder transported by ambulance. Holder reportedly joked with paramedics during the ride to med star Washington Hospital center. He was taken into the emergency room to be checked out. Earlier this morning holder had complained about faintness and shortness of breath at his senior staff meeting at the department of justice. Holder is 63 and stated as in good shape, playing basketball regularly. In the hospital he was reportedly resting comfortably, alert and conversing with doctors who evaluated him. At the White House Briefing reporters asked if the president had anything to say about the attorney general being taken to the hospital . The president was notified and wishes him a speedy recovery. Reporter just after 1 00 this the afternoon four vehicles in his security detail today left the hospital and we were told mr. Holder was sent home. The attorney general walked out of the hospital without any assistance. Now hes wellknown and wellliked locally before he became the u. S. Attorney general. He served as a d. C. Superior court judge. And the u. S. Attorney for the District Of Columbia which means he was the top prosecutor of all criminal cases in washington, d. C. Thats the latest. Im chris gordon news4 back to you. Students and staff at a local campus are finding out about a Sexual Assault that happened over the summer. That attack happened on the loudoun campus of the Northern Virginia community college. That campus was already on edge following two Sexual Assaults in that area in october. On monday a woman who works for a company that contracts with the school reported this incident from the summer. Campus police banned a coworker who the alleged victim identified as her attacker and at this point police think its an isolated incident. A teacher who lost his job after being accused of showing up drunk was found not guilty of being drunk in public today. Michael higgins was arrested at Broad Run High School in ashburn last march. A colleague reported he was under the influence. He testified he had been drinking the night before but not that morning and not at school. He hopes to return to teaching. We now know the cause of that house fire that killed a College Student from Prince Georges County. Fire investigators revealed that the fire at the house in frostburg, maryland it started in the kitchen and appears t ac. 23yearold man died in that fire on february 14th. He was a student at frostburg state and lived in the house that was converted to college apartments. A Court Injunction is giving more than 200 families in prince georges some extra time before they are forced out of their homes. Wscc was going shut the water off at the lynn hill condominium. But the building got an emergency injunction to keep the water on until march 14th. This gives residents more time to set a court date to get those bills paid. In court lynn hills representatives claim their funds to pay the bills were embezled. Today some georgetown residents are upset about a proposed condo project. The georgetown dish is reporting a develop wants to build luxury condos at the base of that area known as the exorcist steps. The proposed height about 50 fete. Residents say they have problems with the design and concerned the new structure will block their views of the potomac river. Officials with the d. C. Circulator are looking to expand their routes in the city. One proposal would add a loop from Union Station around the mall down underneath. That would start next spring. D. C. Circulator held a forum taking input from riders on where they would like to see current lines expand but of course nothing is free. Ddot recommending a fare change. That would have to be approved by the d. C. Council. In less than 30 minutes another public hearing will be under way on proposed changes for some of metros bus routes in southern Prince Georges County. Past meetings have left some commuters upset when the routes could be eliminated or severely altered. Prince georges county bureau chief Tracee Wilkins reports. Reporter buses in southern Prince Georges County are important. There arent many of them and with no metro train stations around buses are what many commuters rely on. Brendan is one of them. Under one of metros new proposals he has to catch the bus here 40 minutes earlier then be brought here to the Eisenhower Metro station in metro where he would then board the train, ride the yellow line and ride the blue or orange line landing him here at smithsonian station anute longer commute. Marylanders dont want to hear they have to go virginia to catch a train to get to work. Thats part of what we have to dialogue with folks is to identify what is the highest priority. Reporter metro is holding a number of public hearings on proposed changes for this and other bus routes in southern Prince Georges County. Officials say the problem is demand outweighing resources. Unfortunately the number of buses in our fleet and the amount of funding for services has not kept up with the overall potential. Police were inundated with calls after this composite sketch was released and they tell news4 they are confident they are getting closer to an rest. Anne Arundel Police are asking for the publics help to find this man who cut a store clerk with a knife. The employee tried to detain him until police arrived. Thats when he pulled out a knife, swung at the worker and ran off. The employee was cut in head but expected to be okay. We reported on several serial bank robbers in our area recently but tonight police in Montgomery County are looking for a guy who hit up the same bank twice a month part.
