Sanders was in jeopardy of being left off the ballot because of a clerical error. As Mark Segraves reports, the Council Voted to fix that today. But not everybody was in agreement. Mark . Yeah, good evening jim. While the council was quick to approve sanders for the ballot, two d. C. Council members did not vote in favor of it. Both for very different reasons. The ayes have it unanimously. While technically it was a unanimous vote two Council Members were not among the yes votes, Council Member Vincent Orange voted present rather than yes or no. Before the vote at a meeting he questioned whether the council should be interfering in party politics. And put some of the blame on senator sanders. In this particular case, the Bernie Sanders campaign did not put people on the streets in the District Of Columbia to collect signatures. They decided to pay so this is where we find ourselves today. The Sanders Campaign followed all the rules. And paid a 2500 fee to appear on the ballot rather than collecting investigates. Hillary clinton did both. But the Democratic Party did not file the paperwork on behalf of the candidates until the day after the deadline according to the board of elections. From the time Denise Mattison arrived at her town home last year to find her husband Corey Mattison mortally wounded she called him her hero. Mattie is the oldest of denise and the defendants three children she took the witness stand and testified for the prosecution. She has changed her last name to mattison and now considers the victim her father. I did my best and i wanted to honor corey, my dad, any way possible. And i wanted to don could be safe. The youngest mattison, baby corey, born eight months after her fathers death. Denise tells me the little girl has already been given a book that tells her fathers heroic story. Security workers at lord taylor store called police after they saw the suspects in the store last month. Fairfax county police say they found 76,000 worth of stolen items in the suspects car. Theyre also accused of having tools to remove security sensors from the merchandise. According to a 2011 news report, a florida woman with the same name as one of the suspects was arrested at a mall in the boston area, in that case, she was accused of stealing items from a bloomingdales than 90,000 worth of merchandise in her car. Back then. A new report suggests the hacking at Medstar Health systems may have been easily preventible. The hackers broke into a computer server that had a known vulnerability. A person familiar with the investigation told the nbc washington app that hackers exploited a wellknown design flaw on the Medstar Health network. Urgent public warnings about the flaw began at least nine years ago. The fix is as simple as installing an available update. Medstar says it continuously applies patches to fix vulnerabilities in their software. When we have issues with metro most of the time it has to do with the trains.
