Reporter we were with Tacoma Park Police when they got the phone call from Rockville Police that they had located clayton malenhall. This is the man police here in tacoma park and surrounding jurisdictions have been looking for the last day and a half. Wednesday night around 9 00 p. M. He escaped from the Washington Adventist Hospital. He was on a 5150 hold, a suds watch or a selfharm prevention watch. He was in the hospital on an involuntary status to make sure he didnt harm himself. Cause of that, tacoma Park Elementary School was open lockdown status as were some other schools in the area be keith, as you mepgsed a short time ago, the Rockville Police department called the Tacoma Park Police department knowing clayton checked himself in voluntarily to a facility in rockville and they had him in custody. Detectives are on their way over there to pick him up. He posed somewhat of a danger to the public but police say no one was hurt. All right, tony, with the big news, thanks. One of the heads of the National Institutes of health says were in the middle of a flu epidemic. 41 states including maryland and virginia have reported widespread flu activity. Many doctors offices, pharmacies and clinics say they are running out of flu shots. Thats all rain that is from ohio into the mountains and then east of there, across virginia, maryland, the District Of Columbia and close up few of storm team 4 radar and farther to the north, into northern adirondel county and eastern Howard County getting some sprinkles and getting a few sprinkles in the Shenandoah Valley and western maryland and more somewhat moderate rain south of fredericksburg and thats going to move to Southern Maryland. Right now, Charles County is getting a few sprinkles as well. Temperatures are chilly all throughout the areas in light blue and its in the mid 40s around the metro area and probably will warm up about another five degrees or so by later this afternoon but look at the mild air pushing to West Virginia and ohio valley near 60 degrees. As the mild air comes in after the rain comes in overnight, that is probably going to create some dense fog. That will be coming in later tonight. And the pentagon is bracing for another budget battle on capitol hill taking steps to prepare to deal with billions of dollars in cuts. Defense secretary leon panetta is asking his department to brace for those cuts if Congress Fails to reach an agreement on a final spending plan. The Defense Department will start freezing civilian hiring and it plans to delay awarding some contracts. And hold off on some maintenance as well. The pentagon is facing nearly a half trillion in cuts over a decade. And Inauguration Day is now just over a week away. This morning, a big change in plans. The pastor who was supposed to give the ben diction at the swearing in will no longer do so because of antigay comments he made 15 years ago. The reverend removed himself from the service after getting criticized for a sermon where he preached that therapy could turn gay people straight. The Inauguration Committee said it did not know about the sermon at the time of his selection. Meantime things are taking shape for the big day. Its estimated 40,000 people will pack two inaugural balls the night of the inauguration. The inauguration collectibles will soob be available and the official inauguration store opens today at noon at f and 11th streets northwest. And parade marchers will hold a practice parade this sunday through the streets of washington. Today the u. S. Air force band is getting ready for the big parade. News4 Megan Mcgrath got on inside look at the preps. Reporter the inauguration is just a little more than a week away. And all kinds of preparations are under way. You can see behind me, the u. S. Air force band held their formal dress rehearsal this morning. Theyll be performing during the parade. They sounded absolutely fantastic and they say they are ready. They are train professionals who regularly play before dig terri okita dignitaries. But being part of the inaugural parade is something special. I wanted to be ap conductor and here i am, im 29 year old old and im turning 30 but i never thought i would do this on this kind of scale. This is peters first inaugural performance. And its also the first time for colonel bill knight. I took an oath to the constitution and what better way to reenforce that oath than to get us to participate in the president ial inauguration. The u. S. Air force band and honor guard held a dress rehearsal in a hangar at giant base andrews this morning. From the look of it, theyre ready for the big day. Everything has been meticulously planned and rehearsed. Theres just one unknown out there. The weather. We may be experiencing springlike temperatures this week, but four years ago, the bands marched in belowfreezing temperatures. Colder it gets the harder it is to play the instrument in tune. We have a profound disagreement with this administration, first of all, on what would make a difference. We think many of those proposals are basically, feelgood proposals and what we really need to do is get to the question of why this is happening and what can be done about it. So, i dont think theres any lack of concern about dealing with the problem. I think theres a very different view as to what the problem is and how to solve it. Weve had a few strifls around the metro area this morning and heavier rain in western pennsylvania and eastern ohio, thats going to pass to our north and behind that we have some really mild air that will begin to move in. The areas in green in Prince Georges County and adirondel farther south to Charles County and southern fair dpax, Prince William, stafford, and passing off north and east to Southern Maryland and the Northern Neck over the next half hour or so. Farther north and west, a few sprinkles in northern Shenandoah Valley and temperatures are in the mid 40s. Were in the low to mid 40s in montgomery, arlington, fairfax, Prince Georges County and much more mild care coming in to the mountains as we have this big storm system bringing in milder air into the midwest and that will continue to sweep off to the east and come our way overnight. When it comes in it will likely trigger quite a bit of fog. As we go forward with the feature weather a lot of heavier rains passing to our north but not much, probably less than a quarter of inch of rain around the metro area. A lot of cloudiness tonight and patchy, dense fog, saturday morning around 11 00 a. M. Still, fog around and during the afternoon. Maybe some thin spots in the cloud cover and still, mild weather moving in. And then as we get to sunday, theres going to be another weather system getting close in the mountains but ahead of that, lots of cloudiness and mild still. Rain moves in on monday. For this friday afternoon, expect when youre coming back from work or school or back home later in the day, well have temperatures near 50 with rain likely moving through. And overnight tonight, that fog coming in after the rain ends early evening down to the mid 40s by midnight and then by dawn tomorrow, maybe some lingering fog and then over the weekend, well have that soaring temperature and then it plummeted by the end of next week.
