They wanted to find out were those women who took antidepressants during pregnancy more likely to have a child later diagnosed with autism . The study found that in general 0. 7 of women who either did not take antidepressant medication or took the antidepressant medications only for the first trimester had a kid who went on to develop autism. However, women who took the medications in either the second or third trimesters, their risk was 1. 2 . So there was about an 80 risk of having a child later diagnosed with autism, but the absolute numbers are still relatively low. 80 sounds high, i think. 80 increased risk, but 80 of 0. 7 .
