On the far end of the building where it was relatively unfinished conditions. We just made a brave attempt to put that fire out officially. However, due to the unknown conditions, still under construction, its extremely dangerous to do so. We did the best we could. The fire had a good head start on us. It got up into the floor above. Now its up into the roof area. We had to place our master stream devices and service which are the large diameter hoses, water coming from our ladder trucks and thats currently dousing the fire, but we have a long way to go. Whats the plan here . How long is it going to take . I fire knock ed down and under control. Just very dangerous conditions. We have a concern about the Senior Citizens home across the street. With the wind blowing the smoke into that building, we have to shut off the ventilation this that building and we have medics inside checking constantly to make sure they are okay as well. Hi to not think about my family, my children and just focus on her. He was at the right place at the right time. And as a licensed emt and vol e volunteer firefighter, the 31yearold would never normally move a trauma patient, but in this case, he had to make a quick decision for her safety. I couldnt risk further damage to her by a vehicle hitting her or one of us. Or any of the other by standers on the scene. I just had to take action and get her out of tha the driver of the bus unaware of what happened returned about 15 minutes later. The young girl was rushed to the hospital where she was treated for a broke b jaw and was later released expected to make a full recovery. As an emt hes trained to handle these situations. But watching it happen right there in front of him was still hard to take. Nothing hurts worse than dealing with a child. Especially holding her in your arms.
