The second call came in around 1115 on moregate lane that s in the churchland section of the city. No word on how he was shot, or his condition. He was taken to Sentara NorfolkGeneral Hospital for treatment. Police have not released the ages of either victim yet. In Newport News Police are investigating a shooting late last night. It was the third shooting of the day. It happened around 11 o clock on Jefferson Avenue near dresden drive. Police say when they got to the scene they found 18year old Horton Hunter with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital and released shortly after but was then arrested by police. According to two outstanding warrants for assault and battery on a Family Member and a protective order violation. No word on who shot hunter. There were two other shootings in newport news yesterday one was on 25th street. Police say a 19yearold was shot in the leg twice. The victim says it was out of the blue. The other happened on Jefferson Ave in the parking lot of the pondo cafe and lounge. Police say a man was shot in the chest and was taken to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. No word on his condition today but if you know anything about these two shootings call the crime line. On the military watch just days after the tornado outbreak the Virginia National guard, along with local, state, federal and volunteer organizations were out helping those in need in appomattox county.
