Hunter luther has been a student at the deaf film camp for the past 3 years. Hes aged out the camp as a student but has come back to help teach what hes learned. Its a passion that may take him into a career. Michael, the director, he gave me the opportunity to have an internship so that i could the future. And so many of the teachers have been teaching me during the internship how to learn specific tools, or how to properly use equipment. Its more advanced information about editing that i never learned before, and so in the future maybe i could become a teacher. Michael kaufer is the director of the camp and says students like hunter are the reason this camp is so successful. He has been amazing and hes learned a lot, and he has been able to work oneonone with the teachers and learn from them experience everything. And so through that i know that were going to make sure that he absolutely gets a job within the industry. But its not easy getting a job in the Film Industry, and thats why these kids have to work even harder to get their foot in the door. Zahra chauhan isnt sure the Film Industry is right for her, but she feels there should be more opportunity for deaf film makers. I think there absolutely should be more deaf film makers, because there are many who are directing and a lot of the times people think deaf directors cant do it, but if we were to give more deaf people more opportunities and they could be working more in hollywood, and then they could give us, the youth, to learn more and be motivated for our futures and be able to excel and reach our own goals and grab our dreams.
