I mean were talking about 40,000 students across the country affected by this not to mention the jobs lost and staff and faculty affected by this as well. This morning if you go to i it t institution you are greeted with this were currently not enrolling new students. Shut down affecting 40,000 students. Itt Technical Institute made at announcement friday. Theres two locations in northern virginia. Chantilly and theyre closing all 130 campuses nationwide and the for Profit College made the change a week after the college was banned from enrolling new students that really rely on federal Financial Aid. Now itt is center of government investigations and lawsuits for years now and it is blaming government for the drastic move because feds have basically gone after for Profit Schools like itt and in this case it was matter of not having required carbon hand to ensure it had appropriate resources to educate its students across the country. The school also filed for chapter 11 a few weeks ago and completely stopped accepting new students. Decision to suddenly close was not totally unexpected but left those that invested years and thousands of dollars in education in a complete bind and more importantly with unfinished degrees. Why did i lose a year a of my life go to school work 40 hours a week and go to school at night to get a degree and i cant do that anymore. I have to look somewhere else.
