Overnight fatal accident along eastbound ridge road still has lanes shut down about two miles east of little road at airway boulevard. This reportedly involved a motorcycle. Uber and lyft have threatened to leave the Hillsborough County if theres a set of new rules to regulate ride share companies. Laura after years of legal battles, the rules could soon become a vote. Theyre saying if the Ride Sharing Companies dont get their way, they can leave town. Thats happened in other places like austin, texas. Theyre saying the same thing could happen here in Hillsborough County. The Public Transportation commission was supposed to decide the fate of uber this morning. They were set to vote on a controversial proposal at 9 00 a. M. But that vote has been taken off the agenda because of a technicality. That will give shareholders more time to tweak a plan thats been controversial. Here are the highlights. Ride sharing vehicles should be inspected once a year and driver should be background checked and fingerprinted. Not too much controversy on those two points but on point three and four, a whole lot of seven bucks and minimum wait times of seven minutes. Bottom line is what im talking about before. Theres an online petition, 1,800 people have signed. The mayor of tampa said, do you know what . I endorse this, too, and meaning that the proposal is not right. But its also ended up in the court system. Uber says that the Transportation Commission doesnt have jurisdiction over it in the a mute point. More than 40 dead birds have been found and the cause of death could be salmonella or even red tide. Each potential causes could be related to the dumping of sewage. It started in june during Tropical Storm colin when more local governments dumped an estimated 160 million gallons of sue yaj in the water with hermine. They say no one will visit the pier if it smells like sewage. I will not let my child go in that water for potential any illnesses, water born, airborne or otherwise. We have every right to be angry. They have every right to be here, making this an urgent issue. Laura st. Petersburg could face fines if the city does not find a way to stop the sewage spills. Mayor kriseman wants to set aside 58 million to overhaul the citys aging sewer system. Relationship with Deputy Johnsons family could jeopardize the impartiality of the investigation. On august 30, Deputy Johnson shot and killed riggins while serving a warrant. Former middle School Teacher is accused of giving a student a cell phone and asking her to send nude photos and videos to other studen according to investigators, he gave the girl a phone in april along with asking her to take sexually explicit pictures of herself.
