We have sky fox thats been keeping an eye on lutz lake fern harbor road where we have unfortunately reports of a deadly crash where a vehicle hit a home in a neighborhood just off this area and that did kill the driver. Right now what were looking at is the tow truck and a couple of officials, the authorities that are on scene. The vehicle, its kind of hard to tell, but its right there on the bed of the tow truck and its very, very mangled. This has the road shut down as you can see. No one is getting by in the area and so drivers will want to arounds for you, van dyke. We also have state road 54 which is going to be to the north and so well be trying to get more information from this crash, what caused it. We are able to tell you, however, the folks inside the home are reportedly okay. Well get to this right now. Shot of the Sunshine Skyway bridge, still slow in the southbound direction. Last report we told you we have a crash close to the top. It is blocking that right southbound lane so left lane is passing but moving pretty slow in the area. Delays are up to 20 account if youre choosing between the skyway or taking 75. Reporter good morning to you, laura of the laura. We just receive word from troopers that a fifth person has died in connection with this crash. This was a multi vehicle crash that shut down a section of dr. Martin luther king, junior boulevard for several hours as troopers investigated, trying to piece all of this together. Right now youre looking at video from the scene. 9 45 last night. According to the florida highway patrol, they responded to that multi vehicle crash and some people here at the scene describe seeing one vehicle and one side of the roadway and the engine of that vehicle on another. Just to give you an idea, some of them saying also they could see smoke coming from some of the vehicles here and at least two people had to be cut out of one of the i spoke with a man this morning who told me, he described himself as a friend of one of the drivers involved in this accident. This happened not far from coconut palm drive and the area of the tampa bypass canal. According to that friend, he said he and the other driver had connected for a car meetup before the crash and left in someone elses home. A car carrying one of the men experienced problems on the road and he needed another ride back to that original meetup location. While in route, that particular person, now a passenger in another vehicle, noticed dr. Martin luther king, junior boulevard had been shut down and on the other side of that area, he could see a vehicle he recognized, the other driver, his friend, that vehicle damaged in that crash. We were sent this video of flames shooting through the roof of a house on sugar lane. Firefighters were monitoring the scene for hot spots following another fire at the home. It started earlier on wednesday. The original fire trapped three people inside. A mother, father and adult son. Firefighters were able to rescue the son by breaking down the concrete wall. It was too late to save the parents. Neighbors say they were disabled. Cause of the fire is under petersburg. Laura detectives are trying to find 76yearold robert vanells killer. His roommate found his body monday. Police originally thought he died from Natural Causes because they couldnt see signs of trauma. Autopsy showed otherwise. Detectives went back to his house on sixth avenue north yesterday to look for clues and they have a few leads. If you know anything, call crime stoppers. Students at Palmetto High School police had been searching for 18yearold gaskin since the shooting death of Alexander Anderson days ago. Weve not been told a motive yet. Gibsonton area, we have a crash reported at the intersection with cliff avenue and its going to be in the southbound direction where we have a single lane blocked. We have the delays heading that way. So make sure youre planning extra time out the door. Maybe youre leaving early here as well. U. S. 41, northbound direction at cracker avenue so we have a single lane blocked as well. Then delays building in that direction, too. So plan extra time or maybe you want to take 301 or 75. Thats easy to do and that doesnt put you too out of the way from where youre going. Congestion points on the major roadways, looks normal here. Im seeing 275 south coming into the interchange and i4 westbound travelling through eastern hillsborough and then were in the red here southbound 75 taking about 15 to get from bruce b downs to i4. Sunshine skyway bridge. We have a crash in the southbound direction and this is a life look at those lanes leading up towards the north tower. Very, very slow. Single lane is passing, just as we told you before, and the delays are just under 30 minutes.
