The walt more Police Department says that they have credible information that gangs planned to now a attack officer fox 29 steve keeley live at Police Headquarters in philadelphia with what that means here in philadelphia, steve. Reporter from philadelphia, all that rock throwing were seeing on tv, a video of police getting pelted, the kind of stuff we are using to seed in the middle east and not midatlantic in the you had. Rock throwing is nothing compared to threats of killing Police Officers where gangs are ganging up and they are taking this threat seriously. Here in philadelphia a as much as they are down in baltimore. We had black gorilla family the bloods and crypt is a had a meeting validated and verified where they said at the the conclusion of mr. Grays funeral today each group was intend to go kill and take out a Police Officer. I was there. I saw our reaction. I gave them direction to advance on them. They just out number us and out flanged us. We needed more resources there lie forward for having more support tomorrow around the region. I put out calls to washington d. C. , philadelphia we had to go through the state to get those numbers up. But were getting numbers coming n we are looking forward to that support. How will we do that. We push it the out city wide teletype so it will be ready roll calls and emails. Everybody is a aware. Nobody misses it. Again it is just something we have to be mindful of. Reporter that that you can with richard ross and Dave Schratwieser before baltimores Police Commissioner put the call into Deputy Commissioner ross, about whether or not he had any available men to either send on assignment down there or asked to volunteer in baltimore. We will talk to the Deputy Commissioner when he comes in today. Before yesterdays violence the the a arrest in baltimore 35 just on saturday, people charged with rioting, burglary and assaulting police. One of those 35 from here in philadelphia according to the maryland prison spokesmen. It is not men if any of people arrested yesterday are from here as well. Commissioner ramsey by the way for those watching and wondering, may not have been here but he is, taking his first vacation in three years since 2012 celebrating the the 30th wedding anniversary. Even though he is not here you can bet he is in contact by phone and email with Deputy Commissioner ross about baltimores request not only the Police Commissioner here in philadelphia but hold National Leadership rolls as well on that president s commission as well. Again this is why he never takes a vacation and im sure his wife thinking here we go again trying to enjoy time off and you can bet the commissioner is working phones from a hawaii as he celebrates his 30th wedding anniversary. So hard to relax knowing what is going on a hundred miles south of here. Steve you mentioned officers going from philadelphia down to baltimore. Would that supersede in anyway to have the National Guard activated or basically hand and hand in an effort to stop the violence and unrest. Reporter that would be in addition to the maryland National Guard. Philadelphia has asked for help as well before and we see this in storms where the electric companies all share manpower and vehicles as well. It is only a hundred miles away a short trip. The question is do we have the the man power to send down there because as you heard commissioner ross tell Dave Schratwieser they are on high alert here. Often they will put out the request for volunteer work and they will pay those guys as well down there and sort that out later but you can bet every Police Officer in every city in this country feels they are a brotherhood. You see them go to each others funerals and they help each other in need and they are having rocks knocking out the Police Officers down there you can bet angry philadelphia Police Officers wishing they could do something and heres their chance.
