Some of them have been hit more than one time and each time theyve had to dip into their own wallet to make repairs. 350 this time. 550 last time. Thieves have busted a window on his kia sorento in south philadelphia and stolen items out of the his car. I lost 52 cents this time. Last time i had checkbook in there then bought themselves a new car on my checkbook. Reporter about a dozen car break ins recently on fourth street, morris and moore. Broken glass can be even up and down the blocks here. Drew petronius had his car windows smashed in several times. 200 bucks a shot for a wind window. For what, a couple dollars. Reporter a lot of aggravation, too. Yeah. Reporter over at fourth and moore thieves have been busting car windows and stealing from cars. Police have been collecting Surveillance Video from nearby bars and businesses hoping to catch the thieves in action. I see this guy into go every car trying to open the doors. What are you doing their buddy . Hes like mind your business. Reporter will and his girlfriend live on morris street. Finding parking near their home is tough. So news of the break ins and thefts have them on edge. Definitely going to be heightening security a little bit keeping an eye out. Reporter yeah, unbelievable, lucy. 100 grand worth of tools and equipment mainly truck batteries stolen from local businesses in chester and here in eddystone. Take a look. This is one of the businesses hit. They are truck batteries taken 18 of them taken from this paving contractor alone from their fleet of dump trucks. This is one of more than a dozen businesses hit. Doesnt cut anything, doesnt damage anything just stolen the batteries. This man works hard as a masonry contractor a thousand dollars in stolen equipment and a day out of work hurts. And police say this is the guy responsible. Seen hauling away two truck batteries from another business last friday night. Its just ridiculous. Its out of control. He went crazy. Took batteries out of everybody ive talked to. Reporter fox 29 has learned more than a dozen commercial and industrial businesses in chester and eddystone were hit. Here he is again. Driving a large gold chevy tahoe or suburban. Three batteries were stolen from this business. Five taken the same night from this chester welding shop less than a mile away. Its just amazing he hasnt gotten cart yet. Reporter parker paving had ten batteries stolen each worth several hundred bucks. You spend all day trying to get trucks up and going, and we got people sitting around and thousands of dollars it costs youre down i mean its its it hits you hard. Reporter police are stepping up patrols in area parking lots and businesses are now blocking their driveways with machinery and putting fresh locks on their batteries. We spoke with another Business Owner who didnt want to be identified who thinks the thief is lee telling the batteries are oh dumping them for scrap. Makes you think how safe is everything fels 5 30 in the morning going after batteries on main road like this. Reporter now, one of those contractors is putting up a 5,000 reward for arrest and arrest and conviction avenue suspect they believe is from somewhere in this area. Reporter Police Officer came in contact with a powdery substance after searching a suspect passes car causing him to accidentally overdose. Washington Township Police tell us the officer was called to a suspected drunk driving accident. The suspect told police his id was in the Center Console of his car. Now the police chief tells me when that officer opened up the console a powder went up in the air. Thats when the officer turned around and started walking toward his vehicle. He said he was getting dizzy, felt his heart racing and felt like he was going to pass out. Paramedics gave him two doses of narcan and sent him into the hospital. He was leased within hours and is now okay. The police chief tells me they wont know whether it was heroin or fentanyl until they guest the test results back in the coming days. In washington township, Michelle Chavez, fox news. Police say the 47yearold man who died in a stabbing in kensington was actually the attacker. They say he burst into a 57yearold mans bedroom on frankford avenue last night while the attacker was stabbing the Victim Police say the victim managed to somehow grab the knife from the attacker and stab him in the chest. The victim then ran away and police took him to the hospital where hes in critical conditi condition. At tack kerr died at the scene and theres word on motive. British police just issued a new photo of the suicide bomber ho hoping Police People will come forward with new information.
