Police say her condition is indeed critical. Meantime, investigators were able to actually speak with the person on the other end of that face time call. I feel terrible for her. I feel awful. Reporter emily and matter tee rushed over to highland avenue in abington where their 14yearold girlfriend was struck by a car before 3 00 p. M. Her bag just sitting down there. Its really bad. Reporter skyfox flew over the scene wednesday afternoon as investigators worked friends say the girl was walking to Abington High School for cheerleading practice when the crash happened. Police say she was on her phone face timing with a friend while walking into the street directly into the path of a passing car. Its kind of surreal, because she was just going along face timing a friend whoever it was and the fact that that could happen to you in ten seconds is very scary. If youre face timing are if youre on regular phone call or if youre texting and it could distract you from being aware of traffic. Reporter cops say the driver of the car was unable to avoid hitting the girl and stopped right away to help. Meantime, friends of the injured cheerleading are keeping her in their prayers while remembering the fun times they have togeth together. Shes amazing. Shes hysterical. Shes goofy at practice. The man behind this video from august of 2016 showing him drag a new Jersey Police officer with his truck has plead guilty. 39yearold edmund brown was sentenced to seven years in prison for the incident in Haddon Township. Police say brown drove off after giving the officer a falls name during a traffic stop. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of fleeing and alluding and one count of illegal weapon possession. A bombshell today in Camden County, new jersey. David creato the man prosecutors charged with killing his threeyearold plead guilty to manslaughter. It comes after months after a mistrial for the crime. Prosecutors have promised to try the case again. Fox 29s dawn timmeney has the details. Its a really, really sad conclusion to a really, really sad thing. Reporter lots of heavy hearts in Haddon Township today after news began to spread that 23yearold dj creato plead guilty this morning to killing his little boy brendon almost two years ago. Creato was scheduled to be retried on first degree murder charges in a matter of weeks after a Camden County jury was hopelessly deadlocked in may. Many in this tight Community Showing continued support for the 384 old boy with blue ribbons outside their homes. Those we spoke to today were not surprised creato struck a deal. It happened in the legal system. It didnt happen in the moral system i think he looked forward and his lawyer said this is the best thing you can do. Its app palling. Its shocking. Its scary it doesnt really surprise me. Reporter under the plea agreement creato admitted under oath that he deprived his little boy of oxygen on october 13th, 2015. He agreed to be sentenced to ten years in prison required to 78. 5 years. I think its kind of sad that you can murder your son and end up being sentenced to 8. 5 years, but you have to have evidence to convict somebody. So without evidence it makes it very difficult. Reporter there were no eyewitnesses to the crime. Not even a specific cause of death. Creato telling police he didnt know what happened. Making this 911 call to police the morning in question. I just woke up and he wasnt in my apartment. I dont know if he wandered out or what happened. I dont know where he is. Three years later about 9 00 oclock the little boy was founded in wooded nary a creek three quarters of a mile from creatos apartment. His father dj the last person to see him alone and now finally admitting he ended his life. Who knows what goes on inside an individual like that. Another preventible tragedy thats how the legal team of one victim described thed septa train crash early tuesday morning. The accident injured more than 40 riders and at least one is looking to take some legal act. Team of lawyers announced today they would be filing a lawsuit on behalf of their client Durell Robinson who had a head injury on the train that crashed into a parked train on the norristown high speed line. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening. Ntssb is still investigating the incident. Good we know that the public has been very interested in clamo clamoring for information. There are many others who like mr. Robinson sustained injuries, and we expect that their stories might come forward shortly. We believe its important to begin litigation so that we can begin our own investigation. One of the attorneys called the incident a diminishing of trust and confidence in the Public Transportation system. The caregiver of an elderly woman with dementia reached out to fox 29 asking us to take a good hard look at the injuries her mom suffered at a local nursing home. Well fox 29s jeff cole investigated. Heres what he discover. Reporter 75yearold lydia beretto suffers from dementia. Shes steady on her feet and can take part in basic games but cant talk and needs 24 hour care seven days a week an exhausting task says her daughter who carries the burden. Whats that like . Its stressful at times but its okay. Im blessed because i have her. Reporter on august 12th, phynique dropped her mom off for a short stay at the majestic Oaks Nursing Center in warminster while she traveled to baltimore. On the 14th she got a call from the center reporting her mother had fallen. But was not injured. Were just calling you to let you know your mom fell. Shes fine. Dont worry about it. Shes fine. Reporter did they tell you there was any bruising. Nothing. Reporter bump on her head. Nothing. No problem at all. No problem at all. It wasnt until she alerted majestic oaks she was was coming for visit on august 18th 4 days after the fall she called to say there were bruises. Phynique rushed over. I didnt see my mom. Thats for sure. All i saw was black eye and her face was bruised and her hands were horrible. Reporter pictures taken by phynique do show dark bruising around her mothers eye the side of her face and the hands. Internal Nursing Center documents obtained by phynique and given to fox 29 report beretto fell head first between the back of a chair and a chair rail on the third floor. Its also revealed phynique was first told there were no injuries but a nurse failed to call her back when the bruising began to appear. In a statement a majestic oaks executive writes, the center does thorough investigations of all complaints of possible abuse writing in this this case an investigation found no evidence to support or suggest that abu abuse, mistreatment or neglect occurred. Wednesday that executive declined to answer questions and fox 29 was told to leave the property. I love you. Phynique believes her elderly mother was abused. She argues this bruise on her chest and bruising to the back of a knee are proof she was pushed to the floor and then stepped on.
