Why would you do that . Why . Why would you hurt us like . Why would you hurt them . Reporter Anthony Singleton stands outside his philadelphia home over come with grief. He believe his wife of four months 40yearold sophia heinz is accused of murdering their eight month old son saint leo and her threeyearold little girl while visiting a relative in florida. I just dont understand how this happened. I really dont. Reporter the children were found dead in the relatives home in meara march ft. Lauderdale suburb on wednesday afternoon after heinz called the woman and told her to come home immediately. The children discovered lying side by side in a bed unresponsive according to a police affidavit. Heinz admitting to investigators that she suffocated her children with a bed sheet holding it over the mouth of the baby boy first, then the little girl. She would be the last person i would ever think that would do Something Like this to kid. Reporter singleton says heinz loved her children and as far as he knew, everything was fine. The last time he talked to his wife who hes been for two years, was on his birthday on monday. I havent had no sleep. I havent eaten. People got to force me to eat. Reporter family says they thought heinz was in new york visiting her brother and would be returning to philadelphia today. Why would you even decide to go down to florida . Its to the point like im questioning everything now. Reporter family members say heinz was suffering from postpartum depression and had stopped take herring medication. Singletons grown daughters are just as heart broken as their dad. We are moving to forgiveness but its still also hard, like, you still took my little brother away. Sophia heinz who has two grown children in jamaica has given no explanation as to why she killed her little children. They went to a girlfriends home and then to this local gas station to buy gasoline. They took the victims car to the 3300 block of let me mel avenue in camden. They take gasoline and pour it on both sides of the car and according who you want to believe pj or k set the car on fire. Reporter but devlin says thats where pj russell made a mistake. Pj says, i left the gun in the car. But it was too late because the car was fully engulfed in flam flames. Reporter firefighters quickly arrived and put the car fire out. After they got the fire out and secured the vehicle, they noticed that there was a weapon inside the trunk of the vehicle. Reporter camden detectives quickly linked the burning car and the gun to the murder of wise. They discover it had come from one of their suspects grandmother homes but faced with record, 67 murders in 2012, they could not bring the case in. Cold case squad pick up the case they took a different approach. Solved the arson case first. We were very confident that that would lead to murder charges. Reporter devlin and forte doug in and did extensive interviews, look at crime scene photos and spoke with arson investigators. Eventually they had enough evidence to go see the Prosecutors Office. We got three warrants for the individuals involved for arson, and then we were ready to go after pj. Reporter months later pj russell was picked up in georgia on arson charges. He was extradited back to new jersey. Devlin and fort thai went to see him at the Camden County jail. Charming and intelligent, hes articulate, hes smooth and hes street smart. Hes absolutely the most frightening guy in the jail. Everybody all the bad guys are afraid of this bad guy. Reporter the cold case investigators spent four hours talking with russell first he tried to opinion the murder on his associate who went by the street name murda but his verse of the murder soon fell apart. Once confronted with the arson charge and the evidence we had against him, he decided to plead guilty for the shooting. Reporter the cold case squad was put in mace back in march 2014 by camden chief scott thompson. Homicide detectives pressed for time due to ongoing violence and only 35 of the cases being solved he decided to commit more resources and manpower to cracking cold case murders. Forte who spent 30 years witness cam county Prosecutors Office before he retired in 2010 is legendary in Law Enforcement circles. He says returning to work trying to solve cold case homicides in camden like the joran wise case is rewarding. Its a good feeling. Make you feel good. Makes you feel like did you something good. He then spent 15 years in the homicide unit at the Camden County Prosecutors Office. It was devlin and a team of detectives who crack the 1994 murder of carol neulander. Rabbi, anything to say. Eventually arrested rabbi Fred Neulander for his wifes murder. These jobs were unsolved because there was a lack of talent. They were unsolved because there was a lack of time. Devlin and fort thai with the help of self other detectives work on dozens of cold cases each year. With fresh eyes on the details. They use their experience and years of dealing with coldblooded criminals to find the evidence that will eventua eventually help catch the killers and put them away. The mayor jim kenney has become a real hypocrite he and City Government are wasting money with a 4 billion budget and now he needs more for what he says will be for education for pre k and rec centers. I dont trust our sitting government that it will go to those areas. At first it was under the premise that people should cut back on sugar so any drinks with sugar would be tacked based on number of ounces but now it includes all diet drinks. So now its not about sugar any more. Hypocrites. That goes for the mayor and city council. When jim kenney was a member of the city council, he voted against the soda tax. Hypocrite. But my biggest problem is that this is the its only the beginning. Every time the city wants or needs money, they just put up another tax. Next it will be bread, then doughnuts, then candy, what about lettuce and tomatoes, that would be nice combination. Anything they want. Why cant the city go after the millions with the tax cheats of real estate and stop tax abate. For many that move into the city real estate. Cut out the tremendous waste in City Government and jobs given to friends get them out when taxing drinks and next food items, where does it stop . The answer, oh, it will only get worse. Breaking right now in Chestnut Hill. A bus in a crash involving pedestrians. Skyfox over the scene 4 30 at the intersection of germantown avenue and gravers lane. Fox 29s bruce gordon is live at the scene. Bruce arc lost people were around when this happen. Reporter yeah, thats absolutely right. Weve gotten a sense of what took place here from some of the witnesses. This is the intersection of germantown and grabers lane it happened about 4 25 this afternoon. When a route el septa bus was apparently making a turn from germantown on to grabers and struck two pedestrians. Let me step out of the way. Well push in to the scene itself. Witnesses tell me this was an elderly woman who apparently walked with a cane. Theyve actually just moment ago moved her shoes from the middle of the street where they were over to the side there. Weve kind of zoomed in on that area. At any rate the elderly woman was crossing grabers lane, the bus made the turn and apparently struck the woman. She was there with her daughter. The daughter apparently was had minor injuries at most. But was obviously horrified to see this play out in front of her. The elderly woman were told was at least for time trapped somewhat be 19 the front of that route l bus. Now ultimately, both the victims the elderly woman and her daughter, were transported to Einstein Medical Center where they a
