It is absolutely heartbreaking. Sophia heinz husband Anthony Singleton and other family members say they never saw it coming. They say she was a doting mom who spoiled her children. Why would you do that . Why . Why would you hurt us like . Why would you hurt them . Reporter Anthony Singleton stands outside his philadelphia home over come with grief. He believe his wife of four months 40yearold sophia heinz is accused of murdering their eight month old son saint leo and her threeyearold little girl while visiting a relative in florida. I just dont understand how this happened. I really dont. Reporter the children were found dead in the relatives home in meara march ft. Lauderdale suburb on wednesday afternoon after heinz called the woman and told her to come home immediately. The children discovered lying side by side in a bed unresponsive according to a police affidavit. Heinz admitting to investigators that she suffocated her children with a bed sheet holding it over the mouth of the baby boy first, then the little girl. She would be the last person i would ever think that would do Something Like this to kid. Reporter singleton says heinz loved her children and as far as he knew, everything was fine. The last time he talked to his wife who hes been for two years, was on his birthday on monday. I havent had no sleep. I havent eaten. People got to force me to eat. Reporter family says they thought heinz was in new york visiting her brother and would be returning to philadelphia today. Why would you even decide to go down to florida . Its to the point like im questioning everything now. Reporter family members say heinz was suffering from postpartum depression and had stopped take herring medication. Singletons grown daughters are just as heart broken as their dad. We are moving to forgiveness but its still also hard, like, you still took my little brother away. How can we forgive you even though we know you got problems we dont even know where to begin to understand how to deal with this. Sophia heinz who has two grown children in jamaica has given no explanation as to why she killed her little children.
