A couple of us went up to the store we come back and all this happening. Like. Michael greenwood says fox Lincoln High School sophomore was with a group of their best friends unwinding after a long week. Even though fox cant swim, friends say he likes the water and jumped in a few times for fun with his buddies. They did it four times. He was perfectly fine. Obviously, he didnt expect things to turn out this way. No one did. No one could have predict it. Fox is described as a special young man who impacted teachers and staff at lincoln high several of whom spent their saturday at the search site dealing with their own shock and sadness while also consoling heart broken students. Its just not possible. This is just a dream. Thats what i want to believe. Just want to wak wake up everytg going to be all right. My son is a beautiful son. Hes a good kid. Never hurt nobody. Now to a developing story out of the kensington neighborhood in philadelphia where this child is fighting for his life tonight after he and his father were shot just sitting on their porch. We first told you about this story last night as breaking news at 10 00. Twoyearold little boy shot four times in the back now a community on edge as Police Search for the person responsible. Two punks on bikes cruised that was this neighborhood last nigh and start shooting. This kensington neighborhood knowing there were kids everywhere last night. We just spoke to a neighbor who picked up the little boy price johnson who was shot last night. This was the scene on malta street just minutes after the shooting. Cops everywhere. Picking up evidence counting the many shelf casings after a father and son were shot as they sat on their front porch at 9 15 last night. This neighbor who didnt want to show his face or give his name in fear retaliation talked to us a short time ago. Two guys drove up on the bike. Said, this is out block, started firing. I dropped down. The dad went inside limping. He said he was shot. So i went up on the porch to check on the baby because he was crying. So i thought he was just scared i didnt know he was shot yet. I realized he was shot. I gripped him up. Ran in the house. Told dad he was shot, too. Reporter the witness we spoke to says that he took the baby to the hospital in the back of had apples cruiser. He said he feared that the child might die on the way to the hospital because the child was bleeding. Again, the child his mother identified him as two and a ha halfyearold price johnson. We spoke to the mother just a short time ago. She is angry. Shes upset and we will tell you more about her story tonight at 10 00 after the game. Well police are also investiga investigating searching for suspects after two people were shot inside a club. It happened early this morning at an after hours club at the harrowgate plaza. Police say a man and woman in their 20s were both shot. They were taken to Temple University hospital. They are in Critical Condition tonight. No word yet on any suspects at this time. If you have any information that may help police would like to hear from you. Police are also investigat investigating another shooting this one a man was shot in the chest and the head. It happened last night while the man was walking to a chinese Food Restaurant on north american street and west olney avenue. No suspects at this time. The victim is in Critical Condition. In delaware, state police want to find a man who they say choked a woman and then stole her cell phone. Troopers say the confrontation happened thursday between Stanley Mumford and a woman near lewis. Troopers say mumford hit the woman, choked her then snatched her phone. Investigators did not say how the two know each other. Mumford is wanted for strangulation, third Degree Assault and theft he already has an existing warrant in family court. Threeyearold is in the hospital tonight after falling out of a window. It happened this morning on the 2100 block of dover street in north philadelphia. The child reportedly fell out of a third floor window. He was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition tonight. What happened leading up to that fall is being investigated. We were in the 90s the past three days. And then this afternoon our temperatures fell from the 70s into the 60s. So you really did feel a big difference out there not to mention we had a lot of cloud cover. Heres where we stander right now. 62 degrees. So that high of 76 degrees in philadelphia you may say, it didnt feel like that. That was actually overnight while most of wuss sleeping. A plumber was doing some work and pulled a connection from the water main into a property, that accidentally caused water to come pouring in. Crews had to shut off the water main while repairs were made and dozens of homes and a few businesses all impacted. The water is expected to be turned back on later tonight. Man breaks in a delaware home steals a pair of womens underwear and is now being charged with attempted rape. Heres why. State police say this man broke into a home where two women were staying. County Prosecutor Says state police shot and killed a person inside an eastern pennsylvania home. The Northampton County District Attorney said troopers were called to a home in lower mount bethel township this morning. He said there was some kind of threat made toward police causing them to feel that they needed to use force. The person was shot. That was a man. But we have no other information at this time. In Delaware Police say theyve arrest add man wanted in series of burglaries in Sussex County justin holder baum. Police say from october of 2016 through april of this year he broke into homes in the Plantation Park development in the city of frankford. I think the weather kind of got people out. Many headed down the shore friday thinking im going to take advantage of these 90degree temperatures to find out that temperatures were falling throughout most of saturday and this is the high in the 60s and 70s like allentown 65 degrees. Allentown, philadelphia 76 this was actually reached earlier in the morning and then temperatures fell throughout the afternoon. So a bit of a different kind of day. We didnt have our typical afternoon high. Segment at 62 degrees in philadelphia. 62 in millville. 59 for those of us in wrightstown mount pocono also into the upper 50s but looking at your ultimate Doppler Radar there were a few scattered isolated showers through the afternoon time a lot of cloud cover as well. Here we are looking at an expanded version of your ultimate Doppler Radar. And here you can see some of those showers and many even thunderstorms forming with a frontal system just to the south of us. The good thing this frontal system will take its time to arrive here in the Delaware Valley. Were not expecting any of those rain chances to really get here until we head into monday. So our sunday does look like its going to be on the drier side. Well map that out for you on future cast you can see cloudy conditions for the next few hours but then we head through the overnight time. Were actually expecting a gradual clearing so that by early tomorrow morning, looks like weve got nice sunshine at least to greet us early sunday morning then by the afternoon clouds begin to fill in can you rule out isolated shower. No but most of us stay dry as we head into sunday. It once again is going to be monday where that frontal system does arrive from the west. You can see it. We are expectin expecting modere heavy rainfall into early monday morning. But look at what it does to our pollen count. As we look at the sneeze index, were looking at a medium to high level on sunday but monday because of that rain, your pollen count does go down it might be a little bit better for allergy sufferers as we head monday. Tuesday and wednesday with drier weather moving back in back to medium and high. So maybe take your allergy medicine tomorrow for those of you headed to the reach and raise event at the art museum on sunday for tomorrow it will be a cool start. Some people call them unadoptable dogs and so they were about to be euthanized one group said no way. How some love an lot of commitment are keeping these adorable pups alive. Sad al ban don pets die every single day in animal shelters because theyre put to death often its because someone deemed them unadoptable. But one local group is giving those very dogs new lives, changing things up one lucky dog at a time all while making their communities better and safer. Heres our bill anderson. I am actually going to dogs where people in the shelter actually turn around and walk away from. I am i am pulling unadoptable dogs. Most labeled as unfit to be adopted and many just steps away from being put down. The after after those same dogs spent time with an Organization Called throw away doing. We rehabbed them, we put training on them and then they we do it them to Police Departments around the country that cant afford them. Reporter i was there today as griffin arrived after a nine month stay at a dog shelter. The shelter called carol and asked her to please consider taking griffin. She had her doubts. But emotion and hope won out. He was going to be euthanized the next day. Griffin was evaluated today by trainers as other dogs were preparing some to move on short toll serving some of the same communities that not too long ago abandoned them. Theyre the departments that cant afford 5,000 for bought dog so for carol to be able to go and find them dogs, its huge. Reporter right out of the cage he started searching the test room quickly grasped concept of finded the scented determination that trainers hoped for. Yes. Oh, i think youre going going to make a fine specimen. He did outstanding. Reporter this dog who now has a good chance of being welcomed into k9 training was literally hours from being euthanized because nobody wanted him. To be honest with you i want to cry. They say people who spend Time Outdoors in wooded areas on trails and in parks should take precautions, because this year is expected to be a bad year for ticks. Doctors say most people who get a tick bite will only suffer some flulike symptoms but in some cases powasson will bring on seizures and encephalitis, inflammation of the brain. People outside in highrisk areas should cover up as much as possible and wear some insect repellant. A local student is quite the star of his high school hes inspiring his fellow students and teachers in a big way. This young man and his positivity are bringing out the best in everyone around him. Kevin luzinski is an enthusiastic competitor. Lets go, kev. On this day, the 18yearold is getting pumped for a unified sport Special Olympics track and field meet at the souderton area high school. The Program Brings together students who have intellectual disabilities with those who dont to compete on the same team. One, two, three souderton when you have a child with special needs, you worry more. Youre not so sure how theyre going to fit if if theyre going to fit in. But unified sports helps build bonds. Its about fitness, friendship and social inclusion. Of course, kevins mom is a fixture on the side lines. But this guy hasnt even bigger fan club. The Souderton High School Lacrosse Team. Hes just a phenomenal presence all a source of positive energy. Just great guy to have around. 21 now. Soudertons head coach mark cease kevin in act just about every day. Kev is the teams lacrosse manager. The teen is at all the games and all the practices working with the players and encouraging them. How do you help the guys . Do you boss them around or what . No. No. Go, go. Help coach. He feels like one of the brothers on the team. Like feels part of it and keep us up and gives us nothing play for. Kevins love for the Lacrosse Team and loyalty has not gone unnoticed. This is video of the players cheering him on every step of the way as he gives it his all at a recent track event. We can all learn a lot from him to see him cross the finish line and compete the way it does it means everything. He should an example of how we should all act day in and day out. The connection between kevin and the players is genuine. And mutually beneficial. Souderton good i just see true friendships being made there. They dont really see him as being any different than anybody else. Hes just one of the guys. Kevins parents couldnt be prouder of their son. And the community that has embraced, loved, nurtured and accepted him. Kevin is a gift. Hes a blessing. And hes, um, helped all of us become better people and a lot of hes touched a lot of lives along the way. Kevin certainly loves live and wants to get most out of in addition to running track he swims competitively, hes on the chorus, hes in the School Musical and hes about to become an eagle scout.
