And now starting this shift, at 3 15, somebody calls 911, report of the gunshot and just up the block here where we see a bunch of detectives, the homicide unit and crime scene unit just arriving, we have a sixth murder victim since friday, and a fifth since the weekend started, and ended, but didnt end up the violence at 3 15 a. M. Somebody heard a gunshot they called 911 and sure as they were they were sure of it and Police Confirmed it when they found a man dead right here on the sidewalk. Here is inspector scott small. The victim is a john doe,s peers to be a male in his 30s or 40s, he is lying on his back on the sidewalk, gunshot wound to the back of his head. We did find some ballistics evidence just inches from his body, so it appears that the shooter was in very close proximity and fired from point blank range shooting and killing the victim. We did find what appears to his body. We will not touch it. We will let homicide detectives go through that after they process, sketch, and photograph the scene.
