It was a very good morning, if anything, too sunny, but as we moved into the afternoon, it really started to cloud up. Showers have stayed out of the forecast except west and northwest of the beltway a few sprinkles. Lets start with a live look outside, our live michael and son weather cam. You can see were in the clear downtown, but lots of clouds have moved in. Those clouds are keeping our temperatures from dipping, though, 62 degrees now and the dew point 49, so we still have a relatively low amount of humidity in that lower atmosphere. Thats going to prevent the shwe get more into the Early Morning hours on monday, but with tomorrow being a holiday were not too concerned about the showers really affecting your commute time. I think youll be in good shape throughout much of the metro area, just some very light scattered showers. High temperatures return to the 70s tomorrow. Thats where theyll stay all workweek long. Tuesday the biggest difference is that well clear out some of those showers and it will turn breezy and then wednesday a cold front is on the way. Thats going to bring us the chance for some thunderstorms. You can see that on our satellite and radar that there are some showers on the approach, but most of the showers that tried to move through today actually lost their energy as they made their way over the mountains. Its the general trajectory, everything coming up from the southwest helping to dry things out because of the appalachians helping to get rid of some of that moisture. By noon tomorrow some showers could push through and maybe during the morning morning the monday morning commute as well. As you hea sprinkle, a warm front lifting through helping bring in milder air. Tuesday with the milder air and our approaching frontal system we could trigger showers especially east of the blue ridge. I think most of this activity will stay out of the immediate metro area. Now how its more in the mountains especially in the afternoon and early evening, but heading into wednesday here comes the cold front. By lunchtime wednesday its raining in the metro area, but the chance for thunderstorms arrive later in the afternoon. You see those yellows, oranges and reds indicating the possibility of heavy rain. Not tonight, though, just a few sprinkles possible, 48 to 55 for your overnight lows. Tomorrow morning we could have a couple light showers, temperatures in the 50s and 60s, so it is starting to get milder. In the afternoon ditch the jacket, a lingering shower still possible, highs between 67 and 74 and then tuesday its even drier, but it will be breezy, a high up to 76. Wednesday well get up to 76 degrees as well, but that cold front arrives, going to bring the chance for thunderstorms. It does look like the thunderstorms wont arrive till after dinner time. Thats why were keeping the green alert in your forecast and in the first alert seven day temperatures in the 70s, just going to turn breezier and less humid, not like its going to be humid wednesday, but well dry that air out. It will feel more like fall again. Youll watch those temperatures remaining in the 70s which is great news for the Football Games we have next weekend here in town. Absolutely. Thanks. Coming up people opposed to the burgundy and golds official team name marched outside the s
