Court of appeals ruled 21 that samesex couples do have the right to marry but not everyone was happy to the ruling arguing to enforce the ban on samesex marriage judge palm niemeyer said failing to define marriage as a union between a man and woman would allow everyone to marry like fatherdaughter arguing that a majority of virginians back Marriage Equality. A plaintiff in the lawsuit against the state spoke after the decision was made from richmond. As a mom im so proud that virginia, our home state, has recognized that we are just like everyone else who desires to be married.
