Police went behind that house and apprehended the suspect right there in the woods. A highspeed police chase along the Fairfax County parkway lasted several hours and involved dozens of officers. One responding cruiser crashed. Someone said they stopped somebody and they were chasing him. Reporter police say the suspect vehicle was speeding and would not pull over. The driver stopped and all five people inside bailed out and fled. Its not something that happens every day, ill say that. Reporter the apparent driver ran into the woods. He was pursued by a police dog and was eventually caught behind jims house. As he was standing there, i saw him run across. The dogs ran across and they caught him. Reporter the other four people in the car . A wellmeaning resident answered the door and the folks said they were out of gas. The person gave them a ride to the gas station. Reporter those four passengers fled the exxon station and police are not pursuing them at this point. We still have not heard if that vehicle perhaps has been stolen.
