Travel agents in Swindon struggling due to Covid and traffic light system

Travel agents around the town have felt the pinch
HOLIDAYMAKERS in Swindon remain reluctant to book overseas trips as the traffic light system and soaring Covid-19 cases continue to bring uncertainty.
In its latest update, the government downgraded the Balearic Islands from the green watchlist to amber and said anybody travelling onto these shores from France must quarantine – even with two vaccines.
Travel agents around the town have felt the pinch.
Manager of Highworth Travel Claire Waldron pointed out the Delta variant was causing countries to close their borders to UK travellers, even though the government allows travel.
She said: “It’s the same as it has been for a while, really, with more and more people being vaccinated I would hope things get better. We’re on the right path but with things spiralling out of control here currently, countries don’t want us.
