WAYNESBURG An empty gasoline tanker truck rounding a curve on state Route 43 slid off the road, taking down some utility poles Tuesday morning. No one was hurt in the crash, said Sgt. David Garber of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Canton post. The village's Facebook page said the road in the 7400 block of Waynesburg Drive SE (also called Route 43) was shut down as a result of the 9 a.m. crash, but later reopened. "He was coming out of the curb and his trailer slid off the road and pulled him off the road," the sergeant said. The truck sustained minor damage, but two poles were down. The American Electric Power Co. website noted a power outage involving five customers in that area at the time.
