With turkey season in full swing, hunters might be interested to know how they can score their turkeys and see how their âthunder chickensâ compare to other eastern wild turkeys bagged in Virginia and other states. Conservation Police Officer Eric Dotterer said that while scoring a deer is tedious, scoring a turkey is less difficult. âThis is a really easy way for a hunter to give himself a tangible number of how big his kill is and how it ranks with other turkey in the state,â Dotterer said. âThis is a neat process that in all my years of hunting, I never really thought about scoring turkeys.â
