The Minnesota Twins said Wednesday that a little more than 2,400 fans will be allowed in the stands per game for spring training at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. Pitchers and catchers are due to report to Fort Myers on Feb. 18, with the first full-squad workout set for Feb. 23. The first home game of the Twins’ Grapefruit League season will be Feb. 28 against Baltimore (schedule subject to change). Hammond Stadium’s normal capacity is 8,730, but because of COVID-19 protocols, slightly more than 2,400 fans will be allowed to attend each game. Social distancing and other safety measures will be in place for the Twins’ games as well as games played by their affiliate minor league team, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
