Two injured, driver charged after utility vehicle flips in McHenry
Updated 7/26/2021 3:33 PM A utility terrain vehicle crash Friday in McHenry sent two to the hospital, police said Monday. McHenry police and the McHenry Township Fire Protection District were called shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday to the 4500 block of Lakewood Road about a single-vehicle crash involving a UTV, according to police.
Officers arrived to find the driver of a UTV had lost control and flipped the vehicle, which had five occupants. Two of the passengers were hospitalized, police said. One was taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The second injured passenger initially was taken to the same hospital but later flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
