A 34-year-old man was charged with manslaughter and a 29-year-old man charged with second-degree murder, according to Russell RCMP. Both men were arrested on Monday. Matthew Swain died Aug. 14, 2019 as the result of a brutal assualt that took place on Highway 16 near Russell. (File) Police also arrested a 24-year-old woman on Monday, but released her without charges. Swain, who was 40 years old when he died, was found by Russell RCMP on Aug. 14, 2019 near the Russell Airport. At the time, police said Swain was brutally assaulted and died as a result of his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.
