U of O has some new guidelines for masking on campus. Credit University of Oregon At a Lane County Public Health press briefing Tuesday, spokesperson Kay Jarvis said the U of O has adapted to rapidly evolving guidance on stopping the spread of COVID-19. “Face coverings are no longer required outdoors on campus when people are alone or in an uncrowded area, " she said. "However, face masks continue to be required outdoors when gathering with others and indoors unless someone is alone in a fully enclosed room.” Jarvis stated the university’s mask policy aligns with guidance from the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon-OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) rules for workplaces.
